MapleLeafpoker 1,462 Posted November 28, 2018 Share Posted November 28, 2018 Skinner is very talented but with that history of concussions, his pending free agency and the fact that he had a no trade clause so could veto any trade it lowered his value. 3 draft picks plus Pu. He turned down an LA deal. Hard to know who that was for, or if it would have been better, but really, they decided they were done with Skinner and would not be resigning him. He didnt work well with Aho, but he does with Eichel. It happens, some trades are just meant to be one sided on paper no matter how hard you try, they were never getting fair value for him. Frankly, I think they have been trying to trade him for years, and finally just took best offer from a team he was willing to go to. People who dont know anything will say they lost the trade, but these are the same idiots who would then say the team was stupid to not trade him before he left as a UFA. Also, his d play left a lot to be desired in the past. Its picked up in Buff probably, cause its his UFA year, and I heard that some guys try harder in their UFA years.
