Pretty interesting morning as we lose Germany and Mexico goes thru despite a 3-0 loss to the wonderful country that brought us Mats Sundin and IKEA.

Great drama. Great soccer.

I find this very disturbing. Can’t tell the difference? It was the Korean team   https://www.sbnation.com/platform/amp/soccer/2018/6/18/17474438/south-korea-sweden-world-cup-trick-jersey-numbers

A whole lot of people in this world could learn a thing or two from the Japanese team.

I love the world cup. The timing of the games is going to make it really difficult to watch much this year though.

The one day break will have me on World Cup starvation

Also made my first different bet today. Bet the over on yellow cards on the England game. Unfortunately it lost

what a game this morning. This was one of the best of the tourney, France is legit.

VIVA LA FRANCE!

So glad Argentina is out. I don't enjoy watching them at all. Dirty and whiny.

Now let's go Portugal!

I want to throw up.

Spain is so much better than Russia. Sometimes thats just how it goes in this sport, but I despise teams who sit back, defend and stall for penalty kicks. Not deserving.

Makes my Croatia/France picks look better. lol

I couldn't agree more. It's almost a flawed sport at the World Cup level. It seems that the teams that play killer defensive are rewarded more often than not in a penalty shootout.

Spain should have been much more aggressive though. There slow buildup also took the life out of the game. By taking so much time with there passes, they also limited there scoring opportunities

I don't know how the announcers are in Canada but the US ones are borderline unlistenable

This afternoon, we have an over/under on how many times this one guy says "Quality" in a match

They’re all British for some reason.

Its the first sport I ever played and fell in love with, and I see a lot wrong with football/soccer today, but at the end of the day, absolutely nothing beats this tournament in terms of drama, because nothing else comes even close to being this important to so many people in the world.

What a game today between Belgium and Japan. You want to initiate someone into soccer, show them this game to see what can be so much fun about it,

Another crazy game. Was really pulling for Japan, so brazil would have an easier (maybe) road. Brazil/Belgium will be good though.

Eww. I think Uruguay is the only South American team I can stomach watching. Was so glad Argentina got knocked out and I wanted Brazil out so bad. The SA style of excessive flopping, dirty play, and whining ruins those games for me.

I wanted Japan to win so bad. I had to go pick up Jin at camp and found the game on Sirrus. It was 2-0 when we got out of the car. By the time I came in, got his snack, and sat down it was 2-2.

Go Croatia or France.

I kind of agree with you Steve. Even Brazil (well, mostly Neymar) has become this flopping/diving crap.

Uruguay seems to be ok, though Suarez has issues with not spitting on people.

France is always my rooting interest because we have family there and long ago they had 2 Armenians on their team, and I was rooting for them, and they won it all.

Since then its been pretty dry.

Also, have a soft spot for Uruguay, cause they were the first country to recognize the Armenian Genocide.

Ya, if you didnt know by now, I choose my sports teams in the strangest of ways. Go Whalers!
