I Called In Sick Today

Recommended Posts

I am at this panel our custodian puts together a few times per year, and Jesus Christ I hate these people.

We do breakout groups with whiteboard activities, and this guy, whose sole source of power is that he grabbed a marker and positioned closest to the board, just blatantly tells me my opinion is wrong and refuses to write it on the board.

We go to dinner, and I end up sitting across from the panel attention whore. Late 30s woman, relatively in shape, dresses somewhat revealing, makes a point to flirt with the highest ranking guy from the custodian. She has kids, he has kids, but for some reason they spent the whole night looking at her tinder matches.

It’s basically just a paid vacation, but the personalities are so obnoxious that I always end up regretting attending by the middle of the second day. Nobody here is a revenue producer, so everyone is super focused on demonstrating how qualified and valuable they are. Anyone who is a partner in their firm will find a way to work it into any conversation.

That sounds legitimately horrible. I'm so thankful I work with good people.

and after 3 days, he is risen!

If you are paying $20 for a haircut, I imagine people assume you did it yourself anyway.

Pocket change cost me my first and only black girlfriend.   It was in the middle of a roaring poker boom and I was flush in ways most men don't even bother dreaming of. Money, it was like dirt to me

i almost dm'd you on twitter to say i'd always love you. the fear was awful.

just picked up mom's mom day gift at the pier 1 imports store. she loves candles and so i got her a fancy candle holder thing in the shape of three buddha's and some candles. and then a jewelry box thing for my brother to give her. she is pretty difficult to shop for because i could give her a rock and she'd say she loved it. but last year i got her a coach purse and she never once used it, so i'm going to play it safe from now on.

I like to get my shoes at least a half size big. I don’t like that feeling of tight shoes on my feet, especially for casual wear. I’m not planning to do any running anyways, so I want to feel loose and free in my shoes.

I have wide feet and high arches, so that's another reason I liked AE's.. I can just order them wide, and I don't have to worry about ordering shoes a size long. If I can't get a shoe in 11.5 (3E/4/E), I don't bother getting the shoe. Life is too short for ill fitting shoes.

I hate shoe shopping, because they never ever have the shoe I want in my size. I'm a natural 16.5, but that size doesn't exist, so I have to choose between a 16 and 17, and most shoes, like the killshot, doesn't even go to 16. I just have far less options.

This is why the best policy is to just be 5’11-6’1 or so. The world is designed for guys like me.

I’m more hopeful that this sports betting thing makes it easier for online poker to come back. If you really wanted to get bets down it wasn’t super difficult and now with everybody going to want a cut vig is only going to get higher and harder to beat, not that it was possible to beat it in the first place.

Brvy, you should probably just pony up for custom made shoes. I have had White boots highly recommended to me, if you're in the market for boots. https://whitesboots..../how-to-measure

I don't disagree. AE charges $100 extra for my size, and that's worth it.

I'll look into White's. I would like some comfortable boots.

Late on the weight conversation, but I'm currently around my peak of 142.

Yeah, that's basically what I'm at right now. Plus or minus.
