As always, I'm cheering for them (so long as it doesn't impact Pittsburgh). Im going to post this here, and in turn respond to your post, by saying if they make the playoffs, I'm going to a game. Hopefully in Carolina. Had a crappy last few months, and not able to do much for a couple more with this shoulder, so Im aiming to go on a trip in April. Skinner gets 2nd rate wingers and 2nd pp and 2nd line ice time. he even 'looked' better earlier in the year, lately his energy seems off. maybe all star break will do him some good. New GM reporting directly to the owner means Francis' responsibility will be merely to be eye candy for those with nostalgia. Little to no say in hockey. Probably was hoping Francis would walk away. My best guess is that he'll be leaving soon anyway. I can live with Francis being let go. I would have practiced a touch more patience, but ok, if you got a good plan in place for who will replace him and why he/she is better for the job. But so far it sounds like he'll be hiring a GM who has to go through the owner to make hockey moves, and thats not going to work in most cases. (See John, what that means is I made it to the playoffs, and then I won every round, and I was declared the Champion of the whole league. I'm all for a fresh start, but I don't like a lot of what I'm hearing, and the kind of candidates they're looking for for the GM+coach jobs makes me nervous. The thing with the Ron Francis stuff is that when you hire a franchise god like him to be your GM, how is it ever going to end well? What, win the Cup then retire as GM? Doubt it. My day: Coached basketball from 11-1, drove home, pick up buddy west end, drive down to BMO Field for TFC, watch game til 5, take Uber to Danforth for pizza.. during dinner get a text from Biacth that says "holy sh*t Carolina lol"...and Im thinking they made some dumb trade of a 2nd round pick for the rights to some coach/GM. what other dumb move could they have made? 60 seconds later recall tonight is lottery night, and then I realized I have to send a message to John and says your FCHL team is welcome!
