MapleLeafpoker 1,462
Its ok, I won my one and only Championship because of his intangibles. As I said 5 years ago.... I confirm taking the heart and soul of the Big M's. _________________ Owner of the Whalers

MapleLeafpoker 1,462
good trade. As they say in FCHL, never trade with Jay! lol note date... I feel sick to my stomach. I hate trading with Jay, I always lose these trades. Just how great are these 2 going to be? And is Tyler Johnson for real????
MapleLeafpoker 1,462
good read from Jay in AHL thread re:trade Yeah that was such a 50/50 deal for me. I really didn't care if we made it or not, as I believe both sides provide tremendous value. You can say what you want about Johnson, but at $0.75 for 3 years, I really believe he's the best contract in the AHL. Ribeiro is pretty much 35, but is still going strong and has a very manageable contract. But his time is running out. Plus I have Fisher from Nashville who's been playing well lately which made it easier to do. I dunno, I like my chances to win the West for the next 5 years at least with a team of Tatar, Pastrnak, Strome, Fabbri, Ehlers, and oh yeah, Tarasenko. The future is bright. MapleLeafpoker 1,462
I made the deal in an effort to make my team better to try to win back to back. I had Nyqvist, so Tatar was not a factor, and Pastrnak had not come into his own yet that year. I had to go for it that year, I thought I had a really good shot at back to back, and I think I lost in game 7 to Bob in semis? not sure. Anyway, such a blast to look at old deals, and see the comments.

MapleLeafpoker 1,462
Lets keep rolling with the Whalers thread being more about me, so someday I can look back and laugh. Dislocation #5, Thurs April 20,2017 Basketball Steve, have I tied you yet? worst part is, I'm in the best shape of maybe my whole life, down to 182, doing a lot of running and had started to work out to strengthen the shoulder. I'm determined to keep this going, and hoping posting this will play a role in motivating me to keep at this weight, and keep working out once the shoulder has healed, and then be ready to play sports in September with a much stronger shoulder. Pretty sure you've surpassed me. Get the damn surgery! DONE! everyone said do the surgery, so i did. had the surgery 5hrs ago. home in time to watch juniors, and fllow big game nghit typing left hand, heavily drugged. I STILL BETTER WIN TONIGHT! 9 months recovery, ill start prepping for AHL-FCHL drafts starting tomorrow. lol

MapleLeafpoker 1,462
I believe in trying to go for it when you're close, and my plus-minus seems to indicate I am, so.............so be it. I overpaid for Getzlaf, but the Landeskog-Getzlaf trade talks put me in an awkward position, as both wanted Clague, and only Clague. I had offered Clague for Landeskog first to Chris, so I had to overpay for Getzlaf to get Ed to accept not being the team to get Clague. My thoughts: (more for me to read in future than anything else) Giving up the money isnt too big a deal. The 2nd will hurt, and Steelheads 4th will also be a nice spot. These sting. Andersson I am iffy on, could be great, could be nothing. (like any prospect). Im ok with trading him for Getzlaf. It was a lot to pay, but I will probably resign Getzlaf depending on where he falls on the final resign scale, and he will be used on some short nights for me between now and end of the playoffs, whenever that is for me.
Zach6668 513
Goddammit! I guess Andersson is a good prospect, but Ed just completely ignored me when I started off discussions by offering a 1st. Would be nice to get some responses.
