FCP Bob 1,312
I would imagine two sets of Goalies will always be available on waivers. that is correct. I wonder if having 4 goalie sets on the roster and only 22 skaters will ever be an option. An active roster is 23 skaters and 3 sets of goalies and goalies are not allowed to be placed on reserve. Untilted 158
Looks like Im going to rebuild. All of my players are available except probably Sequin. Karlsson, Shattenkirk, Turrris etc. are all available Looking for the usual rebuilding stuff. Young, good and cheap players. Good farm players and good draft picks
bigguyren68 155
Looks like Im going to rebuild. With the MIGHTY Swackers now being a force to reckon with, the next 2 years might be the best time to rebuild.

FCP Bob 1,312
ETA Bob? working on it this evening as I worked yesterday and some family stuff today We'll see how much further I get but if not tonight I should be able to finish it off Monday or Tuesday evening.
FCP Bob 1,312
How does a buyout work for someone who only has the upcoming season left on their contract? How much is their contract ? Buyout is half of what their salary is for this season rounded up. So $1.00 contract buyout is 50 cents. $1.25 contract it's 75 cents.
Zach6668 513
Thanks. One last request - can we get the confirmed date/time of the auction as soon as possible? I need to know if it's another wasted season, or if I can actually attend the auction and improve my team. If it's on the Friday, I need it to be as early as possible, as I have tickets to a show downtown at 7. OR, if it has to start later, doing the auction before the draft would be cool, because the draft is easier to do just by submitting a list. Auction is basically impossible to do without being there. Auction is basically impossible to do without being there. you are the only one with a problem with the auction as far as I know right now and we will be doing the same order as usual with the Juniors first. I expect the Junior draft to start at 3 or 3:30 and the auction to start at 5 or 5:30. We have to have things later than usual to allow those from out of town to travel on Friday. Arp has a problem in the opposite direction than you where he has to work and won't be able to get there until 6 or so. Everybody else I've spoken to will be able to make the entire day or not at all.

FCP Bob 1,312
Contracts are done and I've sent them off to Gov to host online. I don't imagine that I'll have those posted until tomorrow night when I get home. If you want a copy of the spreadsheet with all teams send me an e-mail to my @rogers address that is posted at the AHL forum and I'll e-mail it to you as a reply to your e-mail. bigguyren68 155
Hey Bob Question for you. Normally roster deadline is Saturday midnight (7 days before draft). Since draft is Friday this year will deadline for frozen rosters be Friday midnight (7 days), or Saturday midnight (6 days)? Thanks

I do a lot of work after everyone submits there rosters. Losing a day has a decent impact
digitalmonkey 929
Most won't wait until the last day to submit your lineup so it shouldn't matter much.

Losing a day has a decent impact Yeah, it's always been 7 days before the draft so let's keep it consistent and have the rosters due the previous Friday. Doesn't actually hurt anyone IMO. Zach6668 513
Poll Question: Would you prefer we used AHL stats for determining salary as we currently do, or do you think it's better to use NHL stats? http://www.alternativehockeyleague.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=28018#28018 I prefer NHL stats mostly because it provides a larger sample size to draw from, but I'm ok with AHL stats. I'd want a pretty compelling reason to change it. It's a thing that makes the AHL unique, I think. One thing is that if I guy gets injured and only plays 12 AHL games, you're at the mercy of short term luck deciding the contract. Same could be true for NHL stats if you use a per game metric rather than raw numbers. Using raw NHL numbers has drawbacks as well, in that injured players are able to be signed below market value. For example, FCHL uses total NHL stats (adjusted for FCHL scoring (i.e. An assist is 0.5). Connor McDavid missed half of the season in his rookie year so didn't end up in any of the top 3 tiers so was able to be signed for 5 years at $2. It's a rare occurrence with someone of his skill level. It's balanced by other fchl rules so I don't mind it (ie, max you can sign a player to is 5 years then he's automatically in the auction) and the owner lost half a season including playoffs where he made the finals so it's somewhat fair (to an extent) that he gets a discount on the contract. I think it works fine combined with the other rules we have, but in the AHL it would be wise to be aware of that possibility. Positives of using AHL numbers: contract is based on how much they helped your team, some degree of control by manipulating lineups. The last one might also be a drawback.
