MapleLeafpoker 1,462
Remember the Hyundai Pony? I actually survived a major rear end collision on a street. The Pony was totalled and I walked away.I do recall it! wasnt it like $8? lolAdam, I recall your Sonata rental now. I rented one in Florida last summer, I was really impressed too, hence why I kept trying to push the wife towards it.

I don't know how anyone could drive one of those around for a day and ever want to give it back.

mrdannyg 274
We talked to a few mechanic friends when buying our new car, and every single one of them told us to go for a Civic or an Elantra, based on what they saw least in their shop. I think an Elantra is the one in the same class as a Civic, right? Either way, they said the Elantra and Sonata are miles ahead of where the Hyundai used to be and excellent choices for people who don't like paying mechanics.

digitalmonkey 929
At Wonderland and about to go on Klockwerks. Scanning the crowd for Leafs clothing for potential vomit target. I'll keep you posted.
Babying 613
At Wonderland and about to go on Klockwerks. Scanning the crowd for Leafs clothing for potential vomit target. I'll keep you posted. Last time I was at Wonderland, I nearly threw up from riding the rides. I am getting old.
serge 904
Its really bad when your 8 year old isnt afraid to ride stuff that you are.. He went on the BAT at age 6, I waited till he was done.
mrdannyg 274
To be fair, the BAT is super-scary.
serge 904
To be fair, the BAT is super-scary. There are so many more scarier ones now... The Bat is so 1999...
Zach6668 513
I was too scared to ride the bat in 1995 when I was there, I think. Actually no, I left it until the last minute and rode it almost right at 10 pm and remembered it was nothing. Lol. Now I'm a roller coaster junkie, though I rarely ride anymore. The Bat kinda sucks though because any ride by Arrow or Vekoma (see Top Gun) are uncomfortable and bumpy.
Zach6668 513
The Bat is actually a Vekoma track using a train from the Arrow-built Dragon Fyre or whatever they call that now. Both are painful to ride.
Zach6668 513
Notice how smooth the new coasters are (Leviathan and Behemoth), they're built by B&M, and they always give smooth rides. Intamin is also good, but there are none at CW. Premier Rides built the Italian Job, and they're also smooth as hell.
mrdannyg 274
It would appear that Zach thinks about roller coasters more than most.

Zach6668 513
Yeah, I like them.
Dubey 1,035
I love them too but I can't ride many anymore, comfortably at least. Love the design of the Behemoth. We were there a couple years ago and it is by far the most comfortable roller coaster I have ever ridden.
Zach6668 513
Yeah, the problem with the ones I mentioned as being bad has a lot to do with my size. Can't even imagined how bad it'd be for you.
serge 904
The new ones scare me, and the old ones give me headaches because of my head getting banged around.
mrdannyg 274
Don't know if it is still there, but my favourite was the Mindbuster or whatever it was called. Then again, I'm tiny, so even ones like Top Gun that don't work if you're normal size are not uncomfortable.
Dubey 1,035
Danny, I was in your province last week. Only briefly in Halifax, met some people for lunch down by the Harbour, and walked around a bit, there was some kind of festival going on.
MapleLeafpoker 1,462
Don't know if it is still there, but my favourite was the Mindbuster or whatever it was called. Then again, I'm tiny, so even ones like Top Gun that don't work if you're normal size are not uncomfortable. Last year my son and I went on a bunch at Wonderland, and we were on one of the older ones, Wild Beast/Mindbuster/Dragon-something. Im like Serge, my kid is willing to go on everything, and Im the one who looks at it and usually goes "Nope, too scary...or will make me sick". Its kinda sad. Anyway, we go on Wild Beast halfway thru the day or so, and at some point after the first couple of loops, I can tell something happened a couple of cars ahead of me. Kids are yelling when nothing is really going on. Ride goes all the way to the end, and as we get out, I see lots of blood 2 cars in front of me. Turns out some small kid, I would guess 5/6 yrs old, broke his nose at least. It was bleeding profusely, his sister? beside him looked freaked out, and frankly, after that, I just left the park. I didnt have the nerve to go on any rides, let alone let my son go on them. Im sure it was a rarity, but it was still ugly to see. Felt awful for that family. Also, it took the park paramedics/first aid about 10-15minutes to get there, that was dissapointing. Tower of Terror at Disneyworld. Thats a cool ride. Also, RocknRoller Coaster at Disney.....I love the darkness, I love the music blaring. Also, ya, being 6 2 and big doesnt help with some of the rides!

Sweet - Buskerfest was going on I think, which is a pretty weird scene, especially during the day. You should've asked me for lunch recommendations - I hope you went to the bacon place!
