and after 3 days, he is risen!

If you are paying $20 for a haircut, I imagine people assume you did it yourself anyway.

Pocket change cost me my first and only black girlfriend.   It was in the middle of a roaring poker boom and I was flush in ways most men don't even bother dreaming of. Money, it was like dirt to me

that "feels good man" was me last night after I unloaded all that girl-baggage.

and fk off tilt. I liked sex.

I'm happy to have helped. I knew I should've been a shrink. Strat, tell me about your mother.

Wait, "liked" sex?

hey, tilt said something I found funny. wow!

I knew if I kept posting long enough it was bound to happen.

women are just so terrible. if only i was gay.

Vagina though.

she said something like "yeah I'm going to drink tonight" and I was like "that's cool, you going out to a bar or something?" to which she replied "yeah, [name of bar]" to which I replied "ooh that's cool, I haven't been there in forever" (you know, 'hint hint'), and then like 20 minutes later she said "yeah me either, but I live close by so might as well." I was practically begging for a "you should stop by" but noooooo.

so anyways, going with plan b. texted her again after that last post and said "well maybe I'll be up there later and if I am, maybe I'll text you. maybe." (pretty much exactly like that, the maybe part anyways.). and she was like "haha, sounds good." SO FUCK IT I called my buddy and asked on the off chance if they were going into the city tonight (I know, ha ha) and THEY ARE. so I'll make a go of it. still no guarantee I'll see her since we'll be going to different bars, but I'll try.

I have no idea why I quoted this. So....good luck?

Goddammit.

But yeah, didn't you just tell a story about part of your issue with LG being your lack of sex drive and that you didn't care to fix it or something to that effect?

I've always been on your side Strat. Yeah, you get kicked in the teeth by broads but at least you haven't given up on the possibility of ever being with a woman again like some of the "men" around here.

Well, I just got power back in my apartment, so that's pretty good news.

The whole week was pretty surreal. During the hurricane, the streets (as seen from my apartment) were completely empty with the exception of emergency vehicles speeding down them. At around 8 or 9 that night, I heard a few large blasts, and then power went out shortly after. I'm assuming these were related to this transformer explosion:

For the rest of the night, we were without power, but we still had cell service, so we could follow the news on our phones via twitter and facebook.

But when I woke up the next day, the cell service was down. So, my roommate and I were completely isolated. It was an odd experience. We had no tv, internet, radio, or any means of knowing what was happening in the outside world. The city could have been completely destroyed, for all we knew.

So, we eventually set out toward a friend's apartment who we assumed A) had power and B) was there and C) would let us in. But we had no way of contacting him and verifying any of that.

We left the apartment and realized that the entire East Village, and probably much of Manhattan, was without power. We knew from the night before that some places uptown still had electricity, so we headed north. The occasional store was "open," but they were completely black and were only letting people in a handful at a time. One Indian food place had a buffet in the front window that you could walk up to and get some curry and rice. It felt like everybody was meandering north, as if we were a part of some great migration.

As we made our way north, we eventually regained cell service, and we were able to confirm that my friend was home and had power. But, he lived up by Columbia, so we had to walk quite a bit before we managed to convince an "off duity" cab to take us the rest of the way. I should point out that since the power was out, all of the stop lights or street crossing signs were also out. So, try to imagine how much confusion there was at intersections or trying to cross the street. The whole thing was a mess.

Eventually I made it up to Columbia and I spent the rest of the week there, until today. It was pretty amazing: Manhattan below 39th street had no power, but above it was almost completely normal. I wouldn't have really known that a hurricane had happened based only on the top half of New York (with the exception of all subways initially being down).

Yesterday, while the East Village was still dark, I decided to venture down and check if my apartment was still standing. The subways were working down to 42nd street, so I took a train there, then I took a bus down to 14th street, and I walked the rest of the way to my apartment.

Most places were dark, and there were still no street lights. But the occasional shop was open, lit either by candles or a battery powered light. Thankfully, no homeless people had invaded my apartment. I threw out pretty much everything in my fridge, which had long since lost its cold.

When I entered the apartment, it was dusk, but it was full on night when I left, and I quickly realized that post-darkness East Village was a very different beast. The darkness was broken up only by car lights and flashlights held by pedestrians. Crossing the street was dangerous and scary and was something best done by forming a small pack of people. But the worse was that, as it turned out, buses stopped running below 23rd street after 7:00 pm (probably so they aren't raided by bands of mole-people and ex-conficts).

So, I had to walk up 20 blocks in the darkness, stopping at every intersection and flashing my iphone so I would be visible to any cars or bikers. Somehow I made my way to the local bus, which took me to 42nd street, where I got on the subway back toward Columbia.

So, yeah, I'm happy that things are getting back to normal. In the end, there wasn't really any permanent damage to my apartment or my stuff, so I consider myself lucky. A lot of people were way worse off, and I really feel for them. But the whole experience was as odd as it was inconvenient.

Wow, crazy story LLY. Glad to hear your apartment and stuff was all waiting for you unharmed and that things, at least for you, are getting back to normal.

What's happening here? Is he angry about the time change? Is that has mad face? Is he yelling at the clock? Is he in the middle of a yawn because he's so exhausted from the one hour time change that realistically just adds an hour of sleep for one night? Why is he already dressed when climbing out of bed?

I'm past-blasting!

Rejected how? Did you actually talk to anyone or did you not get any looks, so in your eyes, that's a rejection?

You really need to ask that question?

Thinking I'm going to go to the Commerce this afternoon/evening and play some cards. They have a $225 entry, $100k guarantee tourney but I doubt I'll play that. Kind of tempting but not sure I want to have to grind a tournament for several hours then come back the next day to finish, if I were lucky enough to get that far. Probably just play some 1/2 no limit.

do it tilty, gambling is fun.

shake, it could be worse, what if you had taken some random slutbag home last night, plowed and when you were sleeping the deep sleep of a man who just had sex she cut your penis off and threw it out the window?

that would be worse i think.

I don't know, seems like a "two birds with one stone" kind of solution.

yeah, what hank said. random slut bag/dick removal would have been one of the better possible outcomes of the night.

ron: 3 at the bar. talked to. plus the girl from work who basically told me I was an idiot. on the positive side maybe now she'll finally leave me the fuck alone and I can get more work done.

gonna research antidepressants that suppress sex drive and go get prescribed to them. seems like a reasonable strategy.

from the little I know about them, diminished sex drive is pretty much a universal side effect. so things are looking up! (except your penis, he'll still be looking at the ground)

This Hank, en fuego. Needs to post more.

So, work girl legitimately called you an idiot? How so?

And I want to hear more about bar girls? You need a better friend. A better opener. I need a good opener. I can take it from there.

I'm going to the Metalopaclypse show tomorrow night, for my friend's birthday. Dethklok, Black Dahlia Murder (or whatever they're called), Machinehead and All That Remains. This isn't my type of show. But he bought tix for people that bailed on him, so I said I'd go. Got Monday off anyways.

yeah I don't really want to go into exactly what she said because it's pretty embarrassing, even for me, even for here. besides, it doesn't really matter. same old same old.

watched hot tub time machine. it was a surprisingly good movie. rob cordrey or whatever his name is was awesome in it.

Yeah.  Shake, I don't normally pile on about your miserableness, mainly because it makes me feel sad, but we're going to have to go ahead and have you tell us what she said.  Sorry about that.

guys we're talking about hot tub time machine now. for some reason it made me want to try to go skiing again. haven't done it since I was like 8 and haaated it then. but then again, there wasn't any alcohol involved then so who knows. maybe I'll try to shimmy my way into a ski trip with people that don't like me sometime this winter.

no, I won't. but you know, something!
