Dubey 1,035
What to expect when you are expectingDon't ask me how I got suckered into watching this, but it was the worst ****ing movie I have ever seen. I do like Anna Kendrick a lot though.5 Year engagementI liked it a lot. Kind of a real life rom-com. My screening had a really terrible audience though, and I often found myself laughing all by myself. I think it could have been a lot funnier with a better audience, but I still found it pretty damn funny.Ides of MarchIt was pheonomenal. I loved pretty much every minute of it. great cast, obviously, and just really tense and well done all the way through.
DJ Vu 176
Up to the ending though, you were just mediocre in that way where you weren't good, but you were better than part 2. The ending though, makes the whole movie a steaming pile of poo.I liked the movie and the ending. I have, however, avoided thinking about the implications of the ending as it relates to the first movie. One minor quibble: Will Smith takes those spider-spears to his body, then time jumps back a couple minutes and he's fine. But nothing in the movie ever suggested you change when you time jump. That wouldn't even make sense. So how come he still wasn't all shot up? Oh, and I think Will Smith has at least 8 ounces of charisma. Probably more. I don't actually know how you weigh such things.

I loved pretty much every minute of it. great cast, obviously, and just really tense and well done all the way through.really? I was just re-thinking about this movie the other day (some random daydream about clooney and gosling, as usual) and I remembered how bland I thought it was. to me it seemed like a movie that wanted to be so much more than it ever got to be. like they didn't build the characters or plot or anything up enough, or something like that. should I possibly give it another shot? you know, for clooney/gosling?also: things I just watched - the greatest movie ever sold. liked it a lot. it was pretty damn funny and interesting to see how all of that worked. it didn't really dig as deep as I would have liked it to, but considering how he paid for the movie (with the sponsers that the movie was basically about), that would have been pretty difficult. hotel rwanda - it was ok. I... don't have much more to say about it. which seems weird for a movie about geonocide, but here we are.also rewatched the basketball diaries. loved this when I was a teenager, fucking hate it now. his writing was shit. at least what was in the movie. DJ Vu 176
should I possibly give it another shot? Nah. I would rather watch two random episodes of the West Wing than that movie again.I mean, I liked Ides, but I just can't think of any reason to watch it again.

ShakeZuma 585
Did you like Michael Clayton and would you watch it again?hmm, well, it seems that I had forgotten that I'd watched that. but yeah, I liked it, but no, I doubt I'd watch it again. I mean under current circumstances (having to re-rent it from netflix and take up one of my three slots), but I guess if I had hbo and nothing to do and it was on, then sure, I'd watch it again. why did I do all of this analysis for that simple question? the world may never know. Oh, and I think Will Smith has at least 8 ounces of charisma. Probably more. I don't actually know how you weigh such things. Noes, the ending? The ending which posits if you have two black people in the same movie, they must be related? I thought Ides of March was okay--the actors, Gosling and Clooney seemed smarter or more aware than their characters.
DJ Vu 176
Noes, the ending? The ending which posits if you have two black people in the same movie, they must be related? That doesn't make any sense to me at all. The story is obviously trying to tie everything together and so they needed Will Smith's father to play some sort of role in TLJ's life. Is your complaint that there weren't more black people in the movie? Would you at least admit that Josh Brolin was pretty great as a young Tommy Lee Jones?
Iphonenkinder 558
I get frustrated with movies and stories which spend 90% hammering home how big the universe is, and then 10% of their time blowing that reasonable hypothesis apart.I've lived in the same large city for 11 years now, and when I bump into someone randomly--not in my neighborhood, or out where larger social circles might find one another--when I truly just bump into someone I get pissed off. That's why I don't live in a small or mid sized city, so I don't see the same people over and over. I'm supposed to believe, with open universes, that fathers and sons and former partners run into each other? No, I do not believe it, and I don't understand why anyone would want their story or universe that small. This rule is also known as: George Lucas, You Have a Lot to Answer For.
Mercury69 3
The Ides of March = morality storyPretty well executed and reasonably written with good performances from a number of actors. Began to get predictable halfway through, as things spiraled out of control. The inter-relational (?) connections between the most affected characters ended up being a little too convenient. Still worth seeing for effective performances by Gosling, Clooney, Hoffman and Giamatti. Evan Rachel Ward makes a good sacrificial lamb.Michael Clayton was a better film.Oh, and screw MIB. The entire franchise. Can't believe people are actually analyzing it.
DJ Vu 176
I'm supposed to believe, with open universes, that fathers and sons and former partners run into each other? No, I do not believe it, But that's not how it happened at all. The timeline is Agent J's father saves Agent K's life. Agent K vows to watch over his son. When K feels NYPD J is ready, he recruits him to be his partner. There is no "running into each other."
Mercury69 3
Badlands (on TCM)Terrence Malick's first filmOK, this is a great starting point to "get" Malick. This movie was one of those cinematic revelations I have every now and then. For someone who had (according to his Wiki credits) hardly worked in film at all, this movie is so well executed and self-assured it blew my mind. The shot composition and visual narrative complemented the story and dialogue so well, albeit in an often abstract way, it made this movie on of the most complete films I have ever seen. This movie rightly deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as Bonnie and Clyde (which followed it on TCM, but I don't like it as much as Badlands), Apocalypse Now and Taxi Driver.Maybe this will help me enjoy Thin Red Line...Might as well give it a 10/
frautotenkinder 1,025
Kiki's Delivery ServiceIt's my favorite of the Miyazaki movies I've seen--and probably the sweetest. Kiki is a 13 year old witch, who moves away from home and starts a delivery service. She has backup from her awesome cat Jiji.

JubilantLankyLad 1,957
Iron Sky. Much better than expected - almost not a b-movie. Some legitimately LOL moments and a few good pop culture references. Needed more boobs, though. Definitely the best "nazis living on the dark side of the moon" movie this year.
