President Obama ordered the cabinet to cut $100,000,000.00 ($100 million) from the $3,500,000,000,000.00 ($3.5 trillion) federal budget.   I'm so impressed by this sacrifice that I have decided to

That's not true any more. Less than half of married couples have children. 48% of american households have married couples, but only 20% of households have married couples with kids. http://www.nytimes.c...us/26marry.htmlIt's too effing expensive to have kids nowadays.
NY Times? Really?Come on vb...I thought you respect truth.

This isn't about you, its about understanding other people and why they do things.
It was explicitly about me. You asked me what my views were and why, so I'm not sure what you mean(?).
And its not baseless. Where do you think your nausea comes from when you thinking about siblings getting married? In other words, why do you have that?
I dunno why I have that. It could be an evolutionary thing I guess, but I can't point to a single answer. I don't have any sisters so it's not because I know from personal experience that I'm not attracted to them. It's totally baseless though. My personal opinions (combined with similar opinions of millions of other people) on marriage and sexuality shouldn't stop 2 people from being able to legally marry. That was my only point regarding baselessness.

I started that line of questioning because you expressed having trouble understanding the people who are against gay marriage.

It's not baseless. It has a deep history in evolution that goes back farther than humanity; its a nearly universal phenomenon among mammals. Many people trust these kinds of intuitions, and there's good reason to: the wisdom of the biosphere is built into them. Nature doesn't make baseless decisions. Your conscious, cognitive mind is not necessarily always the smartest part of you. Yeah, sometimes we need to override these intuitions because they are out of date and no longer relevant; but they shouldn't be dismissed out of hand. They are an important source of information that should be listened to and understood before being ignored.

FYI, this is my opinion of most posts by atheist on this board.

Obama: "Sometimes I forget there's a recession"

"It was a house of cards and it collapsed in the most destructive, worst crisis that we’ve seen since the Great Depression," Obama said. "And sometimes people forget the magnitude of it. You know, you saw some of that in the video that was shown. Sometimes I forget."Mitt Romney's press secretary, Andrea Saul, responds: "It’s not surprising that a president who forgot to create jobs, forgot to cut the debt, and forgot to change Washington has now admitted that he’s forgotten about the recession. In fact, it seems that the President has forgotten that he’s been in office for the last three-and-a-half years. In November, the American people won’t forget."
Who would have thought taking expensive vacations with no regard to costs would make you desensitized to the reality of how bad your economy is?

I find it hilarious that the left is wetting their pants over Obama's bold move. Know what he really said? He said the states should decide. Has the left suddenly started to believe in states rights? Where is all the mocking and complaining that states rights are just an excuse to enslave everyone?Only one national candidate has supported a national right to gay marriage, and it's not Obama or Romney.

But it was a brave decision....Cause the political fallout of a democrat supporting gay rights is..........................brave?

Among moderates and independents about half oppose gay marriage. Definitely a political risk.881.gif

Thanks a lot Joe Biden....Although some people are speculating that President Obama can now dump Biden and grab Hillary for the VP slot. Which is about the only way to reinvigorate the party since he is falling in the polls.

Yes, I've heard many people saying that in the last few days. And it's hollow because? No Obama is not a legislator. That means he can't try to influence them? It's not like it's a major story or anything, and that opposing him within the D party would be a fairly major rift for whichever legislators did so. Obama has no influence within the D party! This is a thing that is true!I like the picture though.

Your 'hope' that President Obama will be influencing the federal government on an issue that they are not in control of is and you acting like it matters is like saying saying you are motivated to root for the LA Dodgers because Payton Manning was traded in the off season. And Apple Strudel is awesome.
