Sadly due to some adoption rules I was not able to post Jin picking the number for the draft lottery. I did however post it on Facebook and it should be up now or very shortly. I ripped up 100 strips of paper and numbered them 1-100. I then had him draw one. As you see he drew a few and we took the first one he dropped. Enjoy. If you aren't friends with me then add me.

Best ever FCHL entry draft pick, 2009 3rd rounder, Jacob Silfverberg is making his NHL debut for the Sens after completing a dream SEL season in which he won the league MVP, league championship, playoff MVP, and set a new record for goals in the playoffs. He's 21.

I felt like they should have used Stone again tonight.

Yeah, dunno. Silfverberg looked just ok, at best. He got moved off that top line pretty quickly. To me, looked like he had trouble adjusting to the speed of the game, not necessarily the skating, but just that you have to make every play just that much faster than the SEL. I'd be surprised if he stays in for game 7. He'll still end up being a good NHLer, though,

This was my feeling about Chris Kreider in his first game as well...just looked overwhelmed by the speed and as a result he seemed out of place and outside the flow of the game.

We've started our draft a bit earlier than normal this year. We've opened things up in case people are ready to pick, but we haven't started imposing the usual 12-hour time limit yet. It will go in to effect probably in a week or two (when we're near the normal draft start time).Anyways, Arp has a big few days coming up with the #4, 6, 9 picks. He's on the "clock" for #4, whenever he's ready. (No rush, of course)Top 3 were pretty straight forward, Yakupov, Galchenyuk, Grigorenko...

who was I supposed to take with #5?longshot offensive wizard felt a lot smarter than maybe-physical 2nd liner guys.
If I had #5 I would have taken Teravainen, you did fine. Duane is on the "clock".

... you didn't have a backup plan in case he went the pick before you?
Faksa was my backup plan, I was going to trade my pick if both players went off the board. I don't care what the NHL draft looked like, it's too early to be taking defense in our league.

I briefly looked though the prospects and picked him, was too busy to figure out backup plans. A million apologies for damaging your drafting sensibilities.

lol, i'm jk, obvi don't do a lot of pre-draft research for this, but when I know my turn is coming up, say 2 picks away, i'll make a list of 3 guys or something to make sure I have one I want. :club:

LOL...I have a list of at least five possibilities for every selection I have in the draft, weighted according to who is likely to be available when I pick. You threw me a major existential curveball when you realized I didn't actually own my own 3rd round pick this year.

I dunno, with our 12-hour time limit, I tend to not worry about it. Well, at least in the past, when I was just in front of the computer all day. Might be different if my pick is coming up and I have to go to work or something.I'm starting to compile my AHL list, but it's usually just a derivative of the FCHL draft results, lol.

Taylor Doherty says hi!I joke about that, yet I'm not ready to give up on him just yet.
