speedz99 145 Posted March 29, 2012 Share Posted March 29, 2012 speaking of horses, was anyone else watching Luck on hbo? i was. i liked it a lot and it really was getting very good at the end of season one. sadly it was just canceled because a third horse died during filming of season two. i uhh, think they could have worked around it, but the low ratings probably didnt help. anyways, the show gave me a new appreciation for horses. watching them run in slow motion was pretty sweet.You know, it's really pretty shitty that they shut down, and I feel like it was more about the cost and lack of ratings than the horse safety issue. Word is their mortality rate was well below that of an actual race track. Plus, you know, horses just die sometimes.pretty sure I just obliterated this problem solving test with riot games. up next is a phone interview, then a flight to LA to interview onsite, then I have to talk to the CEO. so, I still have to climb a mountain.Wait, this plus the thing with your CEO...a lot has happened with you since I haven't been around much. I don't remember giving permission for that.But it all sounds pretty awesome, congrats.yeah I mean, I didn't really want to elaborate when it was all happening, but basically: I am crushing pretty hard on my coworker (not a single mother, but completely unavailable) which makes life pretty miserable on its own. so throw in some eye-poking as far as teller and IT roles causing stress for me and both bosses, no significant raise for the added responsibility, and the revelation that I won't be moving up any further... why in the world would I stay there?only two more days. I'm gonna miss her quite a lot, but I'm not gonna miss the feeling. haven't decided if I should even keep in touch if she makes an effort to. I've been pretty mum on it because it seems like such a petty thing to throw to you guys, but this doesn't happen to me very often, you know? I have some more time to think on the matter.who knows if anything will come of any of these job prospects, but it's a massive boost to my confidence to get so many bites so fast. And you probably have more to goStory about med school. This guy came in yesterday looking for a quick $35k for his son to do 4 months of med school in the Caribbean. Huh? He said that since his kids grades and MCAT were just above average and not perfect, he didn't even bother applying to stateside schools, he applied to the Caribbean. The deal is, they have a 4 month intensive program that they don't finance, have to pay up front, and if you pass, they'll let you in to med school. $36k. Seems like a racket. If you pass, they have $36k of your cash and then 3 more years of your money and if you fail, they still have your money.
