I remember when this thread was all about how bad KJ was at 3betting

He's probably not flatting KJ's raise otf if he had a2. Besides, A2 is such a small portion of his range here, we are never ever ever ever ever ever ever folding the turn. People are stupid, they do

at a point of total desperation for poker, I'm looking into local charity tournaments. mostly total crapshoots, but there's one with a deep structure, $150 buy-in for 40k chips and blinds starting at 25/50, increasing every 25 minutes. that seems insane.

Playing 4/8 choice game (75% Omaha8, 20% Pineapple/Stripper 5% Holdem) tomorrow with a bunch of never-ever-fold-any-low-ever spewtards.
-$10Happy because I was stuck as much as $260 and fought back. Upset because I got down that much by spewing. Started at about 12. Dinner came at 6pm and we took a 20 min break to eat. I which point I had $60 (in for $300) went on a nice heater to finish at -$10. Won a bunch with A357 on a A4628r board. Got capped 4 ways on the turn. Got in 2 more bets on river. Was up against 2 35xx and a set. Took 2/3rds of the pot.

I've seen this line a few times lately and I'm not really sure what to make of it. feral_cow_icon.gifFeral Cow PokerPokerStars No-Limit Hold'em $0.05/$0.10 - 3 playersButton: $5.42 SB: $8.47 BB: $10.00 (Hero)Preflop: ($0.15) Hero is BB with :4h:club: (3 players)Button folds, SB raises to $0.40, Hero raises to $1.20, SB calls $0.80Flop: ($2.40) :3h:ts:5c (2 players)SB bets $1.71, Hero ?Villain is a 10/6 "reg" from Russia that I have 300+ hands on, no real sample on his fold to three bet. Do we just assume he has a Q here and let him barrel off or do you think he is more likely to have some sort of FD and we should be raising here? When they donk like this in 3 bet pots I really don't know what to put them on.

I largely discounted sets as I think he would fold 22 and 4 bet QQ (atleast I hope he would). His raise first from the sb was something like 44%.

The thing I have against raising is that if he is being a retardo then raising really stops him from being a retardo on future streets too. If he has a queen or better it we will probably get his stack most of the time anyway so maybe we don't want to take away his ability to keep bluffing if this donk is ever a bluff?

well I don't mind a callit's just that I think of this as a spot, 3-bet pot against a reg, dryish board, that I'd like to bluff at sometimes w/ a minraise. so let's see how he reacts to one when I've got a feltable hand

Electronic cig kit cost me $100... seems to be about 4 cartons worth of "smokes" plus reloads of about a carton are $15...+ or - EV?
If will power alone isn't cutting it then it is worth a shot. If it brings in long term results then it can only be +ev in medical bills and quality of life.

I flatted and a low flush card came on the turn. Villain x/folded, which was lame.

1/3 tonight. Gogogogogogogogogogo
*Yawn* Bought in for the usual 300. Lost a few small pots. Ended up down to 150 when the following hand happened - Actually surprised I didn't add on another 100-200 being down to 50bbs. A laggy/spewtard donk shoves for like 30. Weak/tight guy calls, I shove 150 with ATs trying to isolate. I figure LAGs range is pretty wide. Any A, any pair, KQ/KJ/QJ. Weak/tight guy has a narrower range, but he's pretty weak so I'm hoping to get him out and have a chance to triple my investment. Guy behind me folds AQ, everybody else folds weak/tight guy calls. LAG has AJ, other guy TT. I obv bink the one outer on the turn for the side pot. So that brings me up to 250 or so. I then win a small allin with AJ>99. He shoved for 25 after some limps, got a call and I isolated again with AJ getting a major weak/tight guy to fold AK (lolz). I spike a J to beat 99 and I'm up toe 350-400. Then raised a multi-way flop with JT on 982hh. SB lead out 11 on flop, got a call and I made it 45. SB called, BB folded. Turn was an offsuit 5, SB lead for 50 leaving himself about 80-85 behind. I thought for a minute, there's about 170 in the pot so I'm getting 3.4-1 on a call, adding in implied odds (assuming we get it if we hit) means I'm calling 50 to win about 250. Plus my overs might be good. Villain in this hand is brand new to the game so no info on him at all. I was trying to figure out what he would lead/call/lead with. 65? Pair/flush draw? 9x making a blocker bet. I end up calling and hit a T on the river. He shoves for 84. I figure that folding at this point would be pretty weak considering my turn call. I call and get shown Q9. Ship it. He get's pretty pissed says "I don't know how you can call that" blah blah. I just keep my mouth shut. I was up to 700, and feel back down to just under 600, when I limped with KK after 2 limps (it's a tarp!!!!). Villain from JT/Q9 hand makes it 50 with 100 behind, everybody folds, I ship he calls with AJ, I hold. Next big hand I was really proud of myself for the way I played and I'll explain that in a bit. 3-4 limps, and the button makes it 18. Button is the weak/tight villain from the AT>TT/AJ>99 hands. SB calls, I call in the BB with J9s, two more callers behind me. Flop A92r, checked around. Turn J. Check, I bet 60, folds to villain who thinks for 30 seconds playing with the 60, then grabs another stack and quickly slides them in. SB folds. Villain only has 150 behind. Here's where I'm proud of myself. My biggest fear at the table is getting coolered. Not too long ago, I would flat call his raise, check and non-boat river, and call any river... I would win most of these hands, but I'd consistently lose value because I was scared. I have been getting much better at realizing that when I have an edge I need to pound it. Sure, I'll get sucked out on/coolered, but it's poker. I think for 15-20 seconds just trying to put him on a hand. My main fear was AA/JJ. He usualy bets his hands pretty standard, AA would be the only thing he checks the flop with that hit the flop, or it was the case jack. I shove, he calls quickly with AK and I hold. (Thanks for checking the flop, sir!). That pot brings up to just over 1000. I ended up cashing out $1120, but lost $40 playing 7-card no peek to end wit $1080. In this midst of all this we had some serious high-school like drama. So if you don't care about that (though it is pretty crazy) you can stop here. I'm pretty sure it started on a hand where I had KTs, raised pre got 3 calls. On the turn, the board is KK25sss. I bet 35, villain from JT/Q9 hand counts out the 35, then makes to more stacks of 35. He puts on in, goes back to grab the other two and says 'raise'. The dealer looks at me and I nod my head like 'Uh, yeah, he can't do that'. He argues that he said it, but dealer tells him he said it after he put it the call so it's just ruled a call. Other two players call. River is a 4th spade, it gets check to the string better who checks and shows 9s8x. SB shows AxQs. 4th player shows me KxJs, I show him my K like 'Good thing spades came' and we mucked. The guy was still pissed about the string bet, but it WAS a string and it saved him money since the guy with KxJs was never folding. Few minutes later there is an $8 straddle and a raise to $28. There is this younger couple there, the guy is an absolute spewtard donk. He was actually the guy with AJ in the first hand. The girl is a weak player, but overall bad. The girl was playing but the kid had busted was playing her stack because she went for a smoke (nobody cares if people play each others chips). So even with the raise to $28 the kid doesn't see it and throws it $8. The dealer informs him it's $28, so he takes his $8 back and mucks. This is pretty much always allowed, though it annoys me because I think people should get a warning or two first, but then eventually she be forced to keep the money in. Especially this kid, he was constantly checking out of turn/not paying attention. Now, the string better from the KT hand protests that it should stay in. The dealer agrees with him (as does the rest of the table in that 'He's technically right, but it's kind of an ass move) way. So he has to put the $8 back in. The girl comes back in during this and was ten shades of pissed that somebody argued that the $8 should be put it. It turns into a mini argument between her and two other guys but eventually they tell her just to drop it. At this point, I should let it be know that she has been taking shots and is probably borderline drunk. She's seriously standing in the corner of the room (which can barely fit the table, so she's only like 2 feet from the table) crying about it, getting pissed towards the whole table even though it was one guy who protested the $8 should stay. And her boyfriend it trying to calm her down. She keeps making comments like "who cares about $8" etc... to her BF but loud enough for the table to hear. The couple and a player who arrived pretty late start getting into it verbally and eventually the dealer/game runner stops the game and tells them basically that they both needs to STFU or GTFO. His wife (other dealer) comes in to help him control the situation. It takes a minute or so to get them to stop yelling at each other and calm down. The game-runner starts threatening to kick people out. Eventually things calm down and the guy arguing with them says he will just leave. He tries to apologize to the couple but they don't want to accept it. He eventually cashed out and goes outside to smoke before leaving. I was pissed that he left even though it was the couple that was starting everything and the guy was a spewy donk who had $550 in front of him. Things get calmed down, and after he leaves the couple goes outside to smoke and they come back. The girl sits back down in her seat and the kid rebuys again (at this point he was in for like $700). She's obviously still drunk/upset as sees fighting back tears. She keeps trying to bring up what just happened and the guy on my right tells her that nobody else is talking about it and to forget it/be quiet. This continues for another hour where every 5 minutes she says something she shouldn't and the guy keeps telling her to shut up getting more pissed off about it. The rest of the table it telling her to just keep her mouth shut. Eventually, the guy on my right wins a big pot (probably $700) with two pair (spewtard kid) vs. flush vs. nut flush. He is talking to another player about the hand where the chick pipes up and is why "How come I have to shut up, but he can keep talking and being an ass". He asks the dealer to get the game runner in to kick her out and the whole table agrees. She's crying again and ask the dealer if she wants her to leave. She tells her that they are welcome back but it would best if they left. She cashes out, overall the two dumped about $1000, even though it was probably 80% the guy. The boyfriend is pissed because "Nobody dumps puts more money on the table then us" blah blah... It's kind of funny because 1) That night went they were probably only 3rd as far as money lost 2) It was only their 4th time there 3) Just because you dump a bunch of money doesn't mean you get to get drunk/start fights every 5 minutes. So they leave and apparently she wants to drive home but I guess the kid convinced her she was too "distraught" to drive since she thought she wasn't too drunk. He came back a few minutes later and apologized to the table. At this point we all just didn't care and accepted the apology in a "Ok, whatever, just leave" way. /Drama. Cliff notes +820 in poker -40 in no peak Crazy drunk chick started shit, and lots of it.This seriously took me like an hour to write. FM(lack of a)L
