bank financial statements are pretty much a joke, though, dude.
Maybe their public ones, but you can't tell me that the government isn't camping out in their assholes since 2008. There is no way the SEC doesn't have people auditing them constantly.

I'm considering buying BAC on a short-term play (timeframe - 2 weeks to 6 months). Tell me why I'm crazy.
You goddamn bastards:http://blogs.barrons.com/stockstowatchtoda...od=yahoobarronsUp 20% since I made that post. Yesterday.Gotta love Buffett. He gets 700 million warrants included. They're underwater, so no big right? No surprise, on the news he's buying in the shares jump, and his warrants are already worth over $800 million.

That first article says more nothing than I think I've ever seen in a financial article.I wouldn't even consider investing in BAC at this point. It's up 15% since I looked at it, which is what I would've considered the extent of the upside, short of some good financial news.Next target in the "I would throw a few thousand in if I had more than a few thousand to invest" would be Clearwater Seafoods on the Toronto market. Took a big hit on the last results which were more accounting than operational. Should have another strong year, and they'll look very undervalued after this year end. Also some strong takeover rumours from Cooke Aquaculture.

I suspect the fact that lehman was so blatantly lying with repos (unbeknownst to investors, of course) played a part in their not getting saved. I went long GS at 108 the other day. I was feeling pretty smart this morning before everything puked.

Ah, f it. My first ever real trade. Bought into CLR-UN.TO at 2.75. Could've gotten in at 2.65-2.70 easily over the past couple days, but I was hesitant. Also annoyed that it'd cost me $50 in commissions to buy as much as I wanted, so I didn't buy the full amount.I expect to get out around $3.65-$3.75 in the next month. No big.

You should definitely keep putting money in your 401k. You're investing long-term, not short term. If you don't like your returns, you should at least a little say in where your money is being invested, and you could switch it to bonds or something, although, I wouldn't. You're around 40, right? You'll want to stick to moderately aggressive stuff, and not worry about short term returns.
