Yes. The conclusion was that it had to do with the fact that it's WINTER.

Boom. It's on page 2 now.

Hmm. I wonder if anything significant has happened in the past 100 or so years that might affect global warming. I mean, I can't think of a single damn thing. Not one.

Actually overpopulation is the real problem but no one's going to get elected by saying don't have babies.
Remember when the Population Bomb was the best selling book telling us that we were doomed to all die from starvation by the end of the 1980s?Then another book came out that didn't make it to the top of the NYT book list that showed that the entire world could fit in a single county in Florida, that all the families could be given a 1500 sq ft house and then all of them could live in Texas, and that India has enough farm land to feed the entire world all by itself?Good times.

I apologize for injecting truth into the discussion, but Al Gore does not have a billion dollars. Also, he made most of his money investing in Apple and Google.
I'd love to see the "most of" background. He didn't exactly start life as a poor black child, and I know he made a ton off of Tobacco stocks, until he needed to sell them when it became politically inconvenient to own them since he could no longer politic from the grave of his sister and own them at the same time.He also operates a Nickel Mine on his land in Tennessee. I'd imagine that is a pretty big source of environmental pollution income.

I do, that was that Ehrlich nut. Wasn't he also one of the founders of Earth Day?I also remember my Jr. High text book predicting the coming next ice age. I would like to thank Algore for stopping that.

We conservatives are doing our part.We casually are changing the temperature to make it hotter so people get the hint and start leaving.

Now they are saying everyone could fit into Texas but really, why would everyone want to go to Texas, well, besides the Ultra Right wing conservatives?
Where is this a problem exactly?
•having too many children•agricultural burning•overconsumption of resources•failure to re-cycle•production/disposal of toxic waste•improper disposal of human waste•improper disposal of garbage•mis-use of pesticides•overcrowding•economic dependence on growth•depletion of soils by overfarming•erosion from removal of vegetation•urban sprawl•over-fishing•removal of carbon sinks (trees)•inefficient use of fuel•urbanizing farmland•urban growth where water is scarce•eating meatCurrently there is a only about 3% of the worlds water supply drinkable. In the US we are already seeing problems out west with water supplies. This is a huge looming issue that no one wants to talk about. Depletion of important resources leads to poverty, disease, malnutrion and often death. Impoverished people are usually forced to destroy their environment in order to survive.Today the planet's population is 6.8 billion. Although fertility rates in most countries are falling, the number of young people alive now who are destined to become parents in the future suggests that this figure could rise to 8.3 billion by 2030 and 9.2 billion by 2050 - equivalent to adding nearly two more Chinas or eight more Americas. In 1800, there were only about a billion people. By 1900 the number had risen to 1.7 billion. Due to advances in medicine and public health, cheap fossil fuels and a technical revolution in food production, world population mushroomed to six billion by 2000.Much of the coming increase in human numbers will be in the poorest developing countries. In sub- Saharan Africa the population is expected to rise by about 50% over the coming decades. Some of the poorest nations in Africa could see their populations triple.Food and energy production will have to increase by 50% and water availability by 30% to meet the demand caused by the extra 1.5 billion people living on Earth in the next two decades. Many countries have already significantly exceeded their capacity to be self-sustainable in providing their people with food, water and land without having to import resources. 77 out of the 130 countries studied are consuming more natural resources than they are producing and depend on other countries for the difference. On the average, 1 person dies every second as a result, either directly or indirectly, of hunger - 4000 every hour - 100 000 each day - 36 million each year - 58 % of all deaths (2001-2004 estimates). On the average, 1 child dies every 5 seconds as a result, either directly or indirectly, of hunger - 700 every hour - 16 000 each day - 6 million each year - 60% of all child deaths (2002-2008 estimates).
Earth.
Well, yeah that and all those people that don't care about it since they are going to go to heaven and line their pockets with Gold and Good Eats.

The water issue in California is about the only issue I think will be a serious problem in the coming years.I never vote yes for any bond, even if the bond is called free cigars to balloon people named Rob ( well maybe that one )But if the word water is in it, I vote yes. And I am a big supporter of fishing ground protection. I want my salmon when I want my salmon, but there has to be a smart approach to it.But if it helps, I will try to talk to Christ about taking us all out of here early so you guys can have a little more elbow room for a decade or two before you all become cannibals.Get it? Elbow room...cannibals...they eat the elbows....because they are starving....yea, it worked better if you don't think too much about it.

the show in question:http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1...h&plindex=0maybe slightly less bias in this rundown:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Recycling#Criticismre: population growth and all the rest, I'd like to see some more effort put into recycling tech. finding places to stick trash will only get harder with time.

They cover the 'running out of landfill space' issue in the show. Thanks for the link.
