Pretty sure this is impossible.
You need to think OUTSIDE the box, even if it's 10,000 degrees out there.

Doesn't that amount depend on what other countries have? I thought the idea was that we can both have less if the other side has less, so we cooperate to reduce the amount we each have.
I would think it would be some combination of what other countries have and quick-strike capability. If we can torch anywhere in the world in 30 mins or less, any more than that is silly. Even if everyone else gets rid of theirs, I think we may want to keep some of that capability anyway.

Because, as in the case of the treaty, they don't care about having correct facts, and by the time leftists have looked up the correct facts and attempted to get them out into the debate, Republicans have repeated the lie thousands of times to a lazy, gullible public willing to believe whatever has the fewest, shortest words and least nuance.Because their platform is built on a solid foundation of cynical greed, furnished with lies, and decorated with thinly-veiled bigotry.Because look at my awesome new sig pic!!!! It's going to be either that one or this:negreanukleptomaniac.jpg

So it's like the healthcare debate with the roles reversed?

Always so quick to call others racist but uses the most bigoted rhetoric of any non troll that I have seen that posts regularly in these forums.

Remember when strategy said he didn't think SB was partisan?
Was that on April 1st?As I've said before, I've got Republicans I like and I've got some libertarian leanings (though coupled with socialist leanings as well). It's just theocrats I can't stand, and that's what's taken over the party in the last twenty years. I still like Ike.

I think you're thinking of Palin's rallies. [And the more heated the argument over my positions gets, the more you get to see the sig picture! Fun!]

I'd actually be happy if FCP went minimalist and just had usernames.

I guess I never understood the real Reagan...

MOSCOW – The new U.S.-Russian arms control treaty is a much better deal for Russia than its predecessor, but Moscow reserves the right to withdraw from it if a planned U.S. missile defense system grows into a threat, Russia's foreign minister said Tuesday.Sergey Lavrov said Russia will issue a statement outlining the terms for such a withdrawal after President Barack Obama and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev sign the treaty Thursday in Prague. The new accord replaces the 1991 Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty, or START I, which expired in December.Lavrov has said before that Russia could withdraw from the treaty. But his comments at a briefing Tuesday were his most specific yet on how and why a withdrawal could occur."Russia will have the right to opt out of the treaty if ... the U.S. strategic missile defense begins to significantly affect the efficiency of Russian strategic nuclear forces," he said.
What a dumb treaty that means nothing because the other side can dump it for any reason it wants as long as it can blame our attempts at defending ourselves.Of course what does this say about Obama that he would take Reagan's plan and not dump the most obviously stupid part????

Her post didn't strike me as someone willing to consider the other side. The idea that one side is trying to get the facts out there for an honest debate while the other side just wants to get lies out there quickly is an absurd position, regardless of which side is which.

This whole discussion is ridiculous. Like most presidents of both parties do, this is all about the sizzle, not the steak. As Liberals tell it, the treaty will reduce stockpiles by "thousands". As you all have admitted, it also leaves thousands more than is necessaryto destroy the world. So, tell me, what was accomplished other than the Mesiah being able to get on TV and tell us how wonderful he is (while reading a tele-prompter of course) for signing a document that "reduces" nuclear weapons? As Republicans tell it, Obama has harmed American safety by taking away our most potent deterrant to attack from the outside. Again, since there arestill way more than is necessary to blow up the world, what harm was done? This is all just typical politico symbalism over substance.Republican (that hates POLITICS) regards,

The day I turned signatures off was the best day of my life, or at least on these forums.

Not precisely that Republicans only lie, although I did phrase it in a rather partisan way, admittedly. I was more thinking that some Republicans who post here often do not have all the facts before them and the liberals who post on here spend a lot of time doing teh Google and teh Wiki and other two-minute research that perhaps the Republicans should have considered doing themselves, i.e., Congress made Reagan spend all that money, Congress has been controlled by Democrats for the last 30 years, the President doesn't create the budget, etc.P.S. The most bad-ass thing Ike ever did was a smackdown of a Democrat, federalizing the National Guard to show Orval Faubus who was boss. It's that Faubus's side took over the Republican party and ultimately won that saddens and disgusts me.

This is the best answer, of course. That's why I think the yammering of the pundits (of both parties) is so bad for America, because they exist only to encourage enmity and conflict. If we all turned the TV off and drew on our own ideas, the hatred would go way down (or so I like to think).

Yeah, as a rule I don't like big pictures either, so I'm only going to keep it a few days. Edit: I tried resizing it but it doesn't seem to have worked.

This is probably the best answer. At work/school I have them turned off, and home: on.I could make a list of all the people with sig pictures that are obnoxiously big, because I hate them so badly. I will give SB a few days before she goes ON THE LIST.

This is what I was about to say. I guess the argument for the Republicans could be made that they don't like the direction Obama is taking our country regarding nuclear weapons. And on the other side, the Democrats could applaud the direction Obama could be taking us by reducing them. But as far as direction goes, we flip political parties every 8 years anyway. Unless the next Republican president in 2016 decides to continue Obama's actions and reduce our stockpile even more, I don't see this having any lasting impact. And I doubt that Obama is going to revisit this issue since he can already claim that he's "done something about it".
