We have day 1 complete at the Expo.   It was a very uneventful day since the turnout was low. I believe that the fight between 2 guys in the industry is going to get nasty and another show is going

Otto and I enjoy it. We spend the whole weekend together and have a blast. We don't make a lot of money from it. We only do it for the love of the hobby   Because of doing this we have met a lot

The show I think was a success. We had a regular win the signed derozan jersey. Thank god he won since 3 guys I have never seen came in at the last second. When the draw was over they left. Peopl

I have a Tavares rookie from Upper Deck... is it worth holding on to, or do you think there's more money in it for selling it right away?
Is it the Young Gun RC?

Yeah, it is.I've seen them on eBay and card shows selling for like $100-$120, I think now would be a good time to get rid of it. It'll never approach Crosby value, which is like $200-$300 for his UD card, right?

All this talk about hockey cards has got me itching to buy some... What brand/series of cards would be the best to buy to get good expensive cards? My most expensive card I have is a bobby clark OPC rookie card that i bought for 10 cents at a yard sale.

My favorite packs to break are the 09/10 Artifacts right now. You only get 4 cards per pack, and 10 packs per box, for like $95-$100, but you basically get some sort of hit in every pack. I just like that I don't have to deal with so many useless base cards. No idea what the value is, compared to the return you could get on the open market, on average, but it's a fun box to bust, for the most part. You get 3 memorabilia hits per box (jersey cards, sometimes patches, and sometimes tandems and trios). You get 2 rookies, and 1 rookie redemption card per box (Tavares, Hedman, Duchene...), and you also get an Auto Facts autograph in each box, I think. All of this is on average. The other hits are legends and stars subsets which are just short printed. There's also some parallels you can get, maybe one per box for silver, which is serial numbered out of 75, IIRC.

So, just in case, if anyone is interested in any of the crap I've tossed up on eBay, here's the link to my listings.http://shop.ebay.ca/zach6668/m.html?_trkpa...id=p3911.c0.m14There are actually some pretty cool cards on there, so if there's any interest let me know. If someone in the forum that I know would want one, I'd obv rather settle outside of eBay's awesome 12% final value fees, and PayPal's 2.9% money received fees.I'm obviously flexible on most of the prices.

I recommend The Cup. They go for about $2,500 a case now. If you like I have 2 cases left over from the Expo at home.

Iam one of those 90's guys that are forever scarred from card collecting. I will only collect Star Trek memorobilia as trekkies have more disposable income than any other group in the world. They will buy anything Star Trek related, and the value never dies. Ing did you ever profit from the Pokeman craze I heard it was easy money at one point.

No. Never did Pokemon. I did however cash in on the craze for the 90-91 Pro Set cards. I had purchased 2 cases of the stuff and for some reason the Brett Hull promo cards were in the boxes. I was selling those Brett Hull cards for $50.If anything holds it value now it is the old stuff.

Ok.... I went by video plus books today, the only place in town that sells hockey cards, but the selection is VERY small, and way overpriced, but I was jonesing. I spotted a box of 2009/10 artifacts, at 110 plus tax, $125 total. The last 2 boxes I bought were like $85 on ebay, but I'm degen and needed cards now. I just pulled a Sundin/Gilmour Tundra Tandem gold patch card serial #'d 1/1 W00T!!

This Roy/Price Tundra Tandems Gold card is #2 of 5 and the guy has a Buy it Now price of $700 slapped on it...http://cgi.ebay.ca/ROY-PRICE-ARTIFACTS-TUN...=item5d240d1e54
I have that card, dual patch and everything, but mine's out of 35. The parallels are such a scam, btw. They literally don't change the card at all, they just change the colour of the serial number. It's so dumb. Ray's is a true 1/1 because those are supposedly tags from inside the jersey, and they don't have any other versions like that. The card you show, and the card I'm selling are identical, except the serial number they decide to slap on it. He's asking $700, which he will never ever get, and I'm asking $100 for mine, which I probably won't get.http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...=STRK:MESELX:IT

Wow. Basically I'm so new to this, that I have literally no idea what my card is worth. I'll probably end up auctioning it, but with a reserve on it. I'd love the opinion of someone like babying though....

That Tundra Tandems insert set has 3 different levels of patches, not including the 1/1 tags. They serial out of 35, 10, and 5. They are identical cards. They're still pretty rare, obviously, with only 50 of each made, but marking 5 of them out of 5 is almost false advertising. But, on the other hand, it gives sellers a chance to scam some poor sap who doesn't understand that, by making him think there actually are only 5 in the world. There are also FIVE different levels of jersey cards of the same set! They aren't as cool or as rare as the patches, though. They serial number out of 100, 75, 50, 25, and 10. So there's 260 different combos of that card as well. Again, exact same card, just with jerseys inserted instead of the patches, and they try to pawn them off as super rare.

This Hawerchuk/Sellane sold for 350 US, I have to think Sundin/Gilmour would be worth more than that, no?http://cgi.ebay.ca/2009-10-ARTIFACTS-TUNDR...=item1e5938c7e6
There are a lot of Selanne (Finnish) collectors.Wayne might have a regular customer interested in it. If it's a tag I'd say you can get at least $400 for it.

Sorry to inject so late. I had to go to a dinner tonight hosted by 2 people from the Dragon's Den (Kevin O'Leary and Arlene Dickerson). I know Arlene is old but she is hot in person. I got to shake both of their hands.Okay Ray (nice pull btw!!!!). Depending on the patch I do believe that the card could fetch at least $400 on Ebay. It would be a tough sell at the local monthly Toronto Cardshow I do every month (since people are really tight). The Expo it may sell for that amount but Ebay of course would be your best bet.If I was you, I would put it out on Ebay with a BIN of about $700-800 and best offer. See what happens and what kind of offers you get. Also 2 points:1. That Artifacts box was expensive. If I had any, my price would have been $90 at most.2. I believe Ray and Zach are freaks into hockey cards now.
