Yes, this is horrible, this post.

Turns out I'd do, what I've always done, cash farm subsidy checks and compulsively masturbate.

The majority didn't vote against him. The majority stayed home.   The GOP candidate had less votes in 2016 than in 2012 or 2008, when they lost both times.   Dems (and repubs) just HATED Hillar

as a current Chicago resident, I was pretty astonished that Obama was starting his "change" administration with the quintessential face of Chicago Boss politics, one Rahm Emanual [sic]. Well, thanks to the Illinois Review, we learn that high-taxing-Rahmy does not believe in paying high taxes himself:According to the Cook County Assessor's website, the Chicago home of four-term Democrat Congressman and likely new White House Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel, doesn't exist. While the address of 4228 North Hermitage (a few streets over from my house) is listed as Emanuel's residence on the Illinois State Board of Elections' website, there seems to be no public record of Emanuel ever paying property taxes on this home... Why wouldn't 4228 North Hermitage property owners Rahm Emanuel and wife Amy Rule not pay property taxes? One reason may be because Emanuel and Rule declared their 4228 North Hermitage home as the office location for their non-profit foundation appropriately called the "Rahm Emanuel and Amy Rule Charitable Foundation". As a non-profit headquarters, they may consider their home as exempt from paying taxes.

Whenever a wealthy or successful person lays a beat on taxes, the rabble gets upset. I happen to think it's awesome. Personally speaking, I'll be looking into this myself. IIRC, setting up a non-profit "foundation" is pretty easy.

I like how even in his bullshit he references a soul. He's a terrible atheist.
Sorry dude, you don't get to claim dominion over the term soul. It is defined secularly and is more properly and rationally contained within the field of philosophy, not religion. But you mystics are so used to invention and imagination as solutions to your own inadequacy, that you have an entire language and vernacular dedicated to amorphous descriptions of precisely nothing. Please return to your Bible class, you have no business in the real world.

Does it only bother you when Democrats find a tax loophole or does it apply to Republicans as well? That said I wonder if this is one of the loopholes that Obama plans to plug. Oh gosh, can't resist. I wonder if that's why Emanual took so long deciding if he wanted the job or not, lol.

but obviously the vast majority do accept them, which is something you aren't going to be able to explain if relgious belief is a matter of fair choice.Free choice is a better phrase, but thanks for making my point. Once a child reaches an age of understanding, they CHOOSE.no because a minority will always break from the beliefs of their parents.Exactly. As they grow and explore, they will find what, if any religious belief they have. Just exactly like I said in the first place, each persons religious beliefs are a result of their OWN determination.

obviously 20TN was talking specifically about christianity, not belief in a generic higher power. your religious prejudice is showing.
Actually, it was you that insinuated that the Bible was the problem.

i'm wrong that you wouldn't be a christian if you didn't think the bible was historically true? then your definition of a christian is different than most.
No, you're wrong in believing that I am a Christian because I was brainwashed by my parents. I do believe that the Bible is the word of God and divinely inspired.

No it bothers we when people preach about being patriotic telling me to not be selfish, to pay my fair share and then use loop holes not to pay theirs..I am going to start the process of setting up my own 85suited foundation, and my sons private schooling will be "taken" care ofhttp://www.illinoisattorneygeneral.gov/cha...es/forming.htmlhttp://www.usatoday.com/printedition/news/...iside29.art.htmThe Rahm Emanuel and Amy Rule Charitable Trust was formed in 2002, when the Chicago lawmaker was first elected. The former Clinton White House aide and his wife, Amy Rule, are its only donors. Emanuel was an investment banker after serving in the White House. The trust reported having $2,900 on hand at the end of 2005 after receiving $34,000 from Emanuel and donating more than $31,000.During the past three years, Emanuel's charity gave nearly $25,000 to the Anshe Emet synagogue and school in Chicago, and $15,000 to the foundation run by former president Bill Clinton. It also gave $14,000 to Marwen, a Chicago charity that provides art classes and other educational help to low-income children. Rule is on Marwen's board.

I was going to respond but brvheart said about exactly what I was going to.
Well, I'll respond to him then and pretend that it's you.
I get the feeling you don't understand what he meant be 'fully supporting'. It's more along the lines of acknowledging and respecting his position. We can disagree respectfully. Also, comparing what someone says to something Hilter said is NOT saying that they are Hitler, and you know this, which makes it disappointing that you would say it. Just because people don't know what Hitler said, doesn't mean we can't bring it up and say, "Wait a sec... I think I've heard this somewhere before." No one thinks Obama is Hitler, but his some of his policies may be close. Also Guapo has already posted the definition of fascism that he was using and it applies.
It seems to mee then "Fully supporting" is a bunch of bullshit, where you get to say that you fully support the present, you get to mock liberals for not having the same amount of respect as the president, but you also get to call the president any disrespectful thing you want, because you don't actually have to do anything to "fully support" besides say it. I didn't say he said obama was hitler, I said he compared him to hitler, and he certainly did that. I also do not except a limited definition of fascism, fascism involves specific philosophical positions, none which he qualifies for. Using it in any other way, its hyperbole and insult. I can decide to call McCain a faggot, and say " well, what I mean by faggot is an old man from arizona " and it doesn't mean that's what the word means, or that it my definition of it should be respected. Calling someone a fascism or comparing them to hitler is the most fear mongering, reactionary thing you can do. Plenty of liberals did it when describing bush and his policies, and they were absolutely wrong to do it. But one thing they weren't doing, is being "respectful". And again, I don't know how, if you really think someone is a fascist ( and aren't just using the word as an insulting term to belittle the man), how you can "support" him, and support the office. If Mussolini was elected president, I wouldn't be like " oh well, you know, he's a fascist and everything, but he's the president now, so we need to all come together and support him. What I probably would do instead is flee the country.

Some good points, albeit several of Bush's policies were indeed fascist: Guantanamo Bay for instance, vastly curtailing civil liberties in the most undemocratic manner. A slight digression: but what will happen to the place now that Bush has thankfully been booted out?

Actually, a part of their brain is activated! I can promise you that no true Christian exists because of their parents religious beliefs. The parents may have shown them an opportunity but each persons walk with Christ is truly a one on one situation.
I do love the "walk with Christ" imagery. Like having a little familiar on your shoulder gently guiding you, providing moral and spiritual compass in a confused windy world. Never alone. Father Jesus by your side, "walking" alongside you down life's meandering paths, providing loving guidance at each uncertain fork. It's silly to me. But if you need to use that and it keeps you straight I have no problem with it.But please don't sell it as something that should be spread to others. It is a bad way to live. Not the worst way. Just a bad way.I used to argue with many "born agains" who used to run conversion operations on the streets. As I would dig deeper and deeper into the genesis of their "conversion", it would always lead to a catastrophic life event. Whether alcoholism, or depression, or substance abuse, or untimely pregnancy, or any number of shocking personal crises. These conversations always began with the "born again" locked into that silly immutable smile that seems to be worn like a uniform. But as I penetrated, the smile would gradually fade into earnestness, then desperation. Finally transmogrifying into forlorn sadness and eventually tears. At some point I realized that "born agains" are invariably broken souls. And there was no point in attempting repairs. It was too late. The process of becoming "born again" is akin to a psychological version of the Mammalian Diving Reflex, allowing survival in circumstances that would otherwise cause drowning.I think most "born agains" once had a Sophie's choice. Either become born again or face suicide or madness. The survival instinct kicks in, suicide is ruled out, but the mind "snaps". Like a turtle's head when facing external danger, the mind withdraws, lapsing into the comfort of an imaginary world run by a benevolent father (Christ) who will "walk" with you through life providing unconditional forgiveness and gentle loving guidance. I can understand the intense seduction provided by the Christ model: freedom from profound inner pain. It does come at the expense of using imaginary tools unfit for navigation in the real world, but it's better than the alternative. I think the persistent effort of "born agains" to convert others comes from a profound inner guilt. Rather that face the destruction that has already happened to their own spirit by lapsing into the imaginary, "born agains" seek to convert others. This is a way to externalize to others the repairs that are no longer possible to the self. Fascinating subject for study. If I were a psychology major, I think my thesis would involve this subject.

i think there were two different conversation themes and you just mixed them. anyway on this topic, leaving why you personally believe out of it - i was just responding to your assertion that "no true christian exists because of their parents belief". while no christian (or muslim or whatever) may THINK they believe what they do because of parental (or other cultural) influence, the heavy regional/cultural bias of religious demographics can only mean that most of those people are lying to themselves. that is the undeniable implication of simple statistical facts.

jesus christ, I don't think people know what fascism means. It's not a synonym for bad. Bush isn't a fascist either.

Well I will grant you that many people born and raised in communist Russia don't believe in God

I never inferred that he was, all I was intimating was that his "anti-terror" laws, which essentially meant he could charge anyone without evidence or trial is far more fascist than anything Obama has ever done.

First he wasn't booted out, he would probably have won reelection but the term limit thing stopped him.Second, I'm willing to bet that Gitmo will stay in operations under ObamaIf it doesn't, then our soldiers will just turn over their captured combatants to their country's authorities. Which do you think they would prefer?

on the other theme we were talking about, among other things you just compared someone accepting christianity to appreciating the beauty of a sunset. my point was that's exactly the type of irrational emotional appeal any other cult would use on potential recruits. i think most here would be less unimpressed if you at least included an appeal or two to the historicity of the bible along with the flowery god is all about love type stuff.
