As an 'outsider' I will not be voting in this election, however I have been following with interest as the US president does have an immense effect on world politics, and this is a vitally important election in every respect.I am extremely disappointed so far I have to say; no matter how badly the Republicans screw up on important issues, such as the economy and foreign policy, and no matter how low the party satisfaction rate is,people will look for excuses to vote for them.
I have read several pro Republicans accusing Obama of being a socialist, laughable really. Obama is in fact centre right: proposing tax cuts for the majority of workers to help deal with the strain of high oil prices and increasing food costs is not 'far left' as some of the idiots are proposing. If anyone sees this as socialism they are totally deluded as they are for dismissing his proposal for free health care(most 1st world countries don't let their citizens basically die on the street if they can't afford insurance). The Sarah Palin matter is the most laughable of all these sordid tactics the Republicans are employing, mostly because it's working. How blatant can you be? How insulting can you be? And yet due to the stupidity of large sections of the US public they away with it. Apparently it doesn't matter if she doesn't have any policies to help the economy,is "pro life"(no matter what your position on abortion is,it shouldn't be the government who decides on this important issue),plus a whole host of allegations of corruption, none of this matters to them as shes a "pit bull with lipstick". Thats a good enough reason to vote for someone, like f*ck it is! No substance no solutions, just bluster and force.Obama has clearly advocated change on various important issues,Mccain now pretends to, but when you agree with Bush 90% of time you would have to be seriously simple minded to believe him.Lets face the clear facts here; America is still a deeply racist country, not all, but large sections of it.Of course this will have a profound effect on the race and is doing so. I mean 15% of Americans think Obama is a Muslim, FFS thats millions of people. When will people just take a look around and realise what is going on?, America is crying out for change yet some misguided people seem to think there is no problem.Obama hasn't lost this by any means, but the fact this is even close shows just how small minded a hell of a lot of people are in your country.

The Goverment should not decide. It is a state issue and that is where it should be decided.Look at Obama's position. He is for Partial Birth Abortion and has stated if elected the first bill he would sign would be Freedom of choice Act. That bill Declares that it is the policy of the United States that every woman has the fundamental right to choose to terminate a pregnancy after fetal viability. And Obama believes that a aborted baby that lives has not rights, fighting Illinois Born Alive Infant Protection Act and killing it in his committee which he chaired. That is why he could not answer the question at Saddleback, "At what point does a baby get human rights?". The question was not fetus, it was BABY!Glad you used the word "allegations".....one by one they are being knocked down, why don't you research the rumor that she had a affair and how that rumor came about.........then get back to me.

This is my point, I hate communism and socialism and have firm centre-right views. Does wanting Obama to win the election make me a communist? In what way is Obama left wing? I have been following the election and nothing he has proposed is remotely communist.A universal health care system is available in most 1st world countries, would you rather not have one? I am shocked at the ignorance. So many Americans label Obama in this way with no understanding of what they are actually saying.
Hmmm............we could start with his highest Liberal Rating in the Senate. He is a socialist...just look at his criteria for selecting Justices to the Supreme Court. As person who has taught Constitutional Law he should know better. His criteria and I quote:"And we need somebody who’s got the heart—the empathy—torecognize what it’s like to be a young teenage mom. The empathy tounderstand what it’s like to be poor or African-American or gay ordisabled or old—and that’s the criteria by which I’ll be selecting myjudges. Alright?"

Hmmm Interesting ,I never said I was here to take sides with anyone on here, far from it. I came here to highlight the deficiencies of a large proportion of American voters, and why the election is turning into a complete joke. It irritates me when I see people who are severely uneducated label people wrongly due to their ignorance.Obama, no matter how much people hope/dislike it,is not "far left" and is not a communist.Anyone with any kind of intelligence should realise this(That site was just for illustration purposes, I have actually researched this subject). Anyway I have exceeded the level of ignorance I can handle for today, good luck.
You sure Daniel Negreanu didn't put you up to this. He loves to tweak Conservatives.

You've been challenged more then once on the validity of this and have refused to prove it but yet you continue to put it out there as if its fact. He has never once said that he is for parial birth abortion and no matter how many times you attempt to bend the truth to discredit him it will not change that fact.He has voted against proposals to ammend abortion legislation not because he is for partial birth abortions as you keep stating but he is concerned about the affects that could have on Roe v Wade. You may disagree with his stance on the legality of this as Cop does but that in no way means he is for partial birth abortions.

wow could this thread possible prove the op any more right? he was exactly right about everything. a large portion of the country are idiots, and they are falling for this republican BS again. they listen to Palin and all the republican advertisements saying they are against the long time Washington establishment, WTF IS MCCAIN??? Mccain, that ****ing sellout, now starts trying to tell everyone hes a maverick again, and everyone just eats it up, ignoring the fact that hes a big part of the terrible system of the last 8 years. they get some joke governor of Alaska (****ing Alaska, what!?) just to get a female vote and of course stupid females (not saying all females are stupid mind you) across the country start saying "hey shes a womens too! we have so much in common! lets vote for Mccain!!!" this lady hasn't said a single word about what she plans to do, except that she wants creationism to be taught along side evolution (read: facts). hey, that gives me an idea. lets teach that the world is flat along side the more popular modern view, thats what democracy is all about right? choices! lets also give people the option of learning that the earth is the center of the universe. man this is going to be great. oh wait...the republicans biggest accomplishment of the last 8 years is this surge that is working in Iraq thanks to many other emerging circumstances such as the Anbar awakening and new intelligence and military technology for eliminating terrorists. Mccain goes around looking for a parade because he and his boy bush supported it and put it in motion. wow, congrats on getting something right after 6 ****ing years. only thousands of people died in the meantime. seriously, how can we praise someone for finally starting to fix the utter disaster that is the handling of the Iraq war and occupation? not to mention that this concentration on Iraq has relapsed Afghanistan into a terrorist state once again. thats right, fix the problems you created while destroying real progress made somewhere else, great policy, the American people will love you for it. the replies to this thread show just how ignorant and clueless most Americans are. they dont realize how ****ed things have gotten, and how bad retaining the same republican ideals will make things. if you are an American like I am you should be ****ing mad right now. you should want bush and his cronies tried as war criminals, otherwise you are a complacent fool, and the opposite of a patriot. if I were the OP I would be thinking the same thing, how stupid are these people? how can they fall for the same shit and forgive their leaders for mass destruction and murder. how can they listen to political ads and ignore real evidence.when the debates start hopefully people will realize who is intelligent and has real, modern ideas instead of who has a good PR team, but im not getting my hopes up.

There is some hope of that in debate #2, especially now that he knows that blatant bias isnt going to cut it at NBC....till it does again of course.

When his actions are often followed by a statement giving his reasons you refuse to acknowledge the statement and just follow the actions.and the $50 was for you to prove that Obama has said he doesn't feel as though a baby has rights even when it is out side of its mother and breathing. I have seen no proof of this. I am pro choice but anti abortion. I would vote pro choice every chance I got and all along I will say I'm anti abortion would you just bend that and go around telling everyone I'm for abortion?

He blocked the Illinois bill for a reason that no one, including no one in his own party, agrees with. You have a choice. 1) Either he's a shitty interpreter of the law, 2) he's so brilliant that he is right and everyone else is wrong, or 3) he has a different reason for blocking it than he's willing to admit. Your choice. And since your only choice is 2) I'll respond in advance. bwahahahahahahaha

Your original statement: "That bill Declares that it is the policy of the United States that every woman has the fundamental right to choose to terminate a pregnancy after fetal viability." is not supported by the links you provided, except in the case of the health of the mother -- and who can object to that in it's plain English understanding. And yes, I know BG's object that "health" has been defined as "financial health", and yes, that is appalling, but there is no evidence that Obama supports that interpretation. His lengthy, boring, rhetoric-filled speech is fill with lots of sound-bites and calls for more federal spending for birth control programs, but no calls for free choice after viability except for health reasons. The bill you linked doesn't even got that far, it only mentions choice to the point of viability.Sorry, but your links don't support the claim that he supports a fundamental right to terminate pregnancy after fetal viability.

Again you show your maturity. To answer it could be 1,2,3 or a combo of any but why to some of you republicans does it always have to be 3?

Because they get the best political mileage out of #3. And political mileage is all this is about. Everyone including those passionate pro-lifers know for a fact that the Republican Party WILL NOT change anything regarding Roe V Wade. Do you think a pro-life judge will get past a Democratically controlled congress even if McCain is elected? The fact remains that though the Republican Party has touted itself as being pro-life, it's done NOTHING in that regard legislatively. And they had the opportunity to do so when both the Presidency and the Congress were controlled by Republicans for 6 years. So don't tell me that the issue is anything more than a political ploy to try to bring in social conservatives to the Republican fold. And so far they've continued to bite at that worm.
