Is Daniel Neg. An American Citizen ?

Recommended Posts

If he is NOT, then could someone please inform him that it is very bad manners for foreigners to come onto our soil and inject themselves into the arena of American politics. If he would like to get involved in politics here tell him to become a legalized American citizen and then I will have no problem with. I do not get involved in Canadian politics as it is not my place to do so. Daniel has a reputation of bad manners anyway so I thought someone might want to gently tell him so he would know that it is wrong what he is doing.

You probably don't even vote, do you?

I have voted in every election (every two years in November) since I have been legally allowed to do so. I have missed voting in a few local elections for bond measures and stuff like that. Again, I don't really appreciate foreigners getting involved in our political process unless they have the right to vote in this nation. Certainly, you can understand the concern here.

Give him a break, noone cares about Canadian politics, not even Canadians
Funny but not really true. While Canadians appear to be apathetic about quite a few things, it's just perception, as many Canadians veer towards the middle of the road about a lot of issues. But, specifically regarding voter turnout, Canada has a historical average of 45-50% of the population coming out to vote in Federal elections and a figure of 65-70% of registered voters voting in Federal elections. In the USA, however, it appears as though these figures are somewhat lower. In 2006, for example, 43.6 of the voting-aged population voted. It appears as though only 61% of voting-aged people actually registered and of those, only 59% voted.59% of registered voters voted in 2006??? That's below the 64.7% of registered voters who voted in the Canada 2006 Federal election.Oh, and on an open forum, I will feel free to express myself about American politics, particularly because the outcome affects us Canadians considerably. I will try and make informed statements, though...I promise.

No I don't understand your concern. IT'S NOT YOUR FORUM! And as long as it's Daniel's forum, he can blog or comment however he chooses. If you make a forum, you can make whatever rules you want for it. Otherwise stuff it!

Dude, you are totally right on this one. America was not founded on the rights of these "people". America was made for Americans. I am so tired of people who werent born here telling me what to do. I guarentee you George Washington wouldnt have allowed it. And as a Patriot, neither will I.

You do have the right to ignore what Daniel says.

Yeah but 64.7% of Canada is what, 200 people? We're talking about motivating hundreds of millions to vote down here.

Certainly, he can blog about whatever he wants. However, sometimes there can be a cost to what people do in life -- Just ask Daniel's good friend Howard Lederer -- Did he ever kick Daniel's ass for what he said about his sister ? Daniel certainly deserved to have his ass kicked over those freedom of speech comments. So ... I can assume that Daniel is still a legal citizen of the nation of Canada ? If you guys ban me go on right ahead -- If I ever see him in a poker room, I will have something to say to him about this myself.

lol. Tough guy. He contributes to the U.S economy an amount that I would assume is higher then average in my mind that gives him the right imo. Whether you agree with him or not doesn't mean you need to come on here and act like a tool.

This is where we shall agree to disagree -- No one who is not a legal citizen in this country should have any say so whatsoever about the future of our government or politics. Just because I go to Vancover and play poker at the River Rock casino and therefore help support their economy I do not involve myself in Canada's political future nor is it any of my business.

He doesn't have a say as in he can't vote but he has an opinion. People all over the world have opinion based discussions on politics in other countries. In fact if you browse this forum I'm pretty sure there is thread on places like Russia. As for your example taking a trip into a different country is different then living in one where you own/rent a house, buy vehicles, buy groceries, pay utilities etc.

"#7 American poker fans love him." -- You sure about that ? You might want to go ask some people playing poker. It is because of issues like this, blaming Hillary folks for racism and the Annie Duke incident that people give snide remarks when Daniel's name comes up. Great Poker player -- YES !!! Fans Love him - Highly debatable.

You must be high dude. Daniel wins the "Most popular poker player" in BLUFF & Cardplayer magazine polls EVERY year. He is mobbed by poker fans at every tourney BECAUSE he is approachable and friendly. Try asking Phil Ivey or Phil Hellmuth for an autograph or a picture... GL. If I went and asked "some poker players" like you said, 90% would have kind words to say about him. If they didnt....they are just jealous of his image. You cant please everyone in this world.
