jmbreslin 0
82280121Out in 28th. Push-reraised AK, called by AQ and A9, flop comes TKx, turn is a J giving the AQ the straight. Of course.Edit: Not looking good in one of the others, so might as well fire up another, 82283840
jmbreslin 0
8228023018th. So much for my run at the top 3...
jmbreslin 0
Depending on how these 2 others shape up, I'm getting set to fire up another and experiment with some hyper-aggressive play.

HighwayStar 8
FWIW i think i adopt that hyper aggressive strategy and it doesn't work in the $1, everyone calls FAR too lightDown to last 1 , once it gets to FT, im shoving every hand preflop
jmbreslin 0
FWIW i think i adopt that hyper aggressive strategy and it doesn't work in the $1, everyone calls FAR too lightI think you're right, which is why I don't normally play that way. But when things aren't working the normal way and you're in a challenge like this one, might as well take a risk. That said, things are looking good in my final 2 so far. Sitting 7/15 in one and 1/28 in the other with a nice 8000+ stack.
jmbreslin 0
Still surprised we're the only ones on here. Perhaps there will be a late flurry of activity as we get closer to midnight. That, or people have either given up or decided they'll wait to see if they need to play. Not looking good for Cody, though. Unless he's planning to squeeze in his last 9 in the next 2.75 hours... HighwayStar 8
LOL that was fun5th in the last one ( might have been 6th, doesn't really matter)pissed those people off something special shoving every hand preflopgl to all playingI'm never playing them again, I dont have the right temporament, at least not for $1 level. jmbreslin 0
82283840Crap, out in 10th after getting off to a dominant start. Stack dwindled and then got all in w/ AA against AQ and KJ, and the KJ rivered a straight. Of course.
cdipierr 0
That was pretty sick, jm -- that guy was an idiot.
jmbreslin 0
Also starting up 822822273rd, and that's it for me. I don't want to see another 45-turbo for a long time.I'll check back in tomorrow to see if there are any late-night scores to add.
jmbreslin 0
That was pretty sick, jm -- that guy was an idiot.Especially disappointing since my limp ploy worked perfectly, getting the shortie to push and getting the bigstack in on the action was a bonus. Oh well.
jmbreslin 0
Just looked at my graph for these 45-turbos for the period of the challenge and even though I'm disappointed in my performance and have had some real rough patches during the 2nd half of the challenge, I've still done well overall. Playing the $1.10's my ROI during the challenge was 90.62%. Maybe the challenge didn't negatively impact my mindset like I thought it did...

Maybe the challenge didn't negatively impact my mindset like I thought it did...This challenge has almost caused me to take a break from poker. Basically, I figure if I cant beat these dumbasses (the 45 players, not the members of the challenge), I don't deserve to play poker. However, the degenerate gambler that lives inside me can't wait for the next challenge to start. I'm developing a revolutionary strategy, which I will divulge to all of you in the near future. jmbreslin 0
Well that was a strangely anti-climactic end to the challenge. It's been a gost town around here.Congrats to Cappy, qyayqi and Phil for their finishes. Money will be shipped later tonight when I get back to the tables. Thanks to everyone for a great challenge. jmbreslin 0
I wonder if many of us just got burned out from playing so many of these over a relatively brief period of time. It's not as much fun when you feel forced to squeeze in a bunch of them to get in before the deadline and try to move up the standings. Taking a week's vacation without poker during the challenge period didn't help me in that regard either.
cdipierr 0
Thanks for running the thing. I'll be up for a challenge again at some point. Until then I think I'll stick to the oddball tournies on Stars. Don't get to play many non-hold'em events locally.
tealsea 0
been a blast (and not to anyone's ovaries)would probably be up for another but not right away---more stuff coming down the pike at work and somedays i just like to do nothing after work, or play a button masher on the ps3 and just kill everything and i find poker not so much fun if i feel "forced" to play as opposed to playing because i want tocongrats cappy, qy & philjm, you did a great job again running this

CodyHartman 0
well i had to have emergency surgery on my finger and have been laid up in the hospital from Sunday til Wednesday. It seems I got lucky because my finget got infected and spread a bit. My finger was swollen up like an orange. I havent been on the computer since Saturday(?). Congrats to all who cashed in the challenge, it was a terrible month for me with this head cold then cutting my finger partially off.
