Whiter Sr 0 Posted February 6, 2008 Author Share Posted February 6, 2008 Big win for the Sabres last night. With the win the Sabres are tied for 10th in the conference but only 1 point out of eighth. The problem is the 8th most points in the conference is shared by Carolina and Atlanta (Division leaders) so the Sabres are really 4 points out of the playoffs. That's much better than the last 3 we played against the Devils. I am pretty sure we are now 1-0-3 with 3 shoot out losses against them this year. 4 games and all 4 go to a shoot out.I have never seen Tallinder in the shoot out but I would think he will be in the next one after scoring on Brodeur. Also, my buddy today told me he had an extra ticket, so I'm going to the Panthers-Sabres game on Sunday with him and his brother and sister. I'll be watching from Saskatchewan here with my Bro who is a Leafs fan on TSN.They are playing well and with Connolly back I like our chances. I really wish we could get Campbell signed up for multiple years but my guess is he is looking for 5-6 Mil a year which is what he may get in the open market at the end of the season.I watched the whole Bruins game in the airport as my flight was delayed but had to get on with 5 minutes to go. The Sabres were up a goal with the powerplay. I was not happy to find out that they lost. At least they got a point. I love how close it is and that every game matters in the both conferences. This seems more likely than them finishing 10 points ahead of the 8th place team.Sabres now sit in 7th place in the tight Eastern Conference after their big win over the Leafs on Wednesday. Like Fuber said he returned later on. He probably just went off to stop the bleeding.Big win last night after the deadline deal. I would definitely rather have Campbell in my line up than Bernier but if we can't sign him we may as well get some value for him now rather than lose him at the end of the year for nothing. I really hope Regier gets Miller signed up and doesn't let him go. He is the one guy we just can't afford to lose. Goaltending is the toughest position to fill in the NHL.
