Sec Delivers.......

Recommended Posts

oh but shouldn't they have 3 losses by now???they get challenged by other good teams........what a concept
If those other teams are so good, why are they all racking up 3 losses or more each? Could it be what DDIDM said... parity. Thanks for answering my question about why all the SEC defense are sucking though.

ummmm.....parity is a good thing......it makes for a stronger conference........If I was a Big 10 fan I would be embarrassed by some of your arguments and comments, among other thingsWhen did I ever argue that the SEC has the best defenses this year???? It is hard to play the top offenses every week though.I guess you don't want to bring up the "Strength of Schedule" comparisons........i don't blame you

Fuck all this arguing over which conference is better bullshit. Why not band together and kill one major NCAA official a week until a playoff system is implemented.
college football playoffs would be the absolute nuts........it will happen i think before i leave this planet

I see you conveniently ducked the post where DDIDM showed you how the big-10 has been owning the SEC in bowl games. Yea you got Florida over OSU, the other two big-10/sec bowl games were won by the Big-10 last year.Maybe you missed out on the SEC discussion last year, everyone was "SEC has by far the best defenses in the country, we can shut down anyone etc etc" yet I don't see a SEC team this year that can stop anyone from dropping 30 on them.

lol at ducking posts........that is hilarious.........also lol at sec being 1-2 vs. big10 in bowl games last year having any relevance at all in the big picture...........if you seriously think the Big 10 is a better conf than the SEC then so be it, you're just wrong and deep down you know it, you just won't admit it......and why should you and why do I care? lolanyway, i leave you with this for now.......the ALL TIME record of SEC vs. Big10 is 63-45-2 in favor of the SEC obv.......kinda hard to argue that fact.....and you still havent given me a weak response to the 'schedule strength' comparisons.....you can look it up yourself, here is the link http://www.usatoday.com/sports/sagarin/fbc...nterstitialskipenjoy!peace

What will it take for you to understand that their schedule strength is 20 times tougher than any team in the Big10??????? just look it up
Why does Ohio State get punished for the mediocrity of the teams they are FORCED to play in the Big Ten. Is it the fault of the OSU football team that Michigan lost to a 1-AA team? Is it the fault of the OSU football team that Wisconsin has fallen flat on their face after a great season last year?Schedules are made 3-4 years in advance. The last couple years we played a home/home with Texas. Next year starts a home/home with USC, and the year after that begins a home/home with Miami (Fl) that was scheduled after the '02 title game.Schedule strength is one of the most overvalued stats when it comes to college football.

Ok smart guy. I didn't say it wasn't important, I said it was an overrated stat that fans(typically SEC ones) use to justify why their teams lose 3-4 games in a season. Look at the history of Big Ten vs SEC in bowl games and see who has the edge.Granted, Florida played an absolutely awesome game vs OSU in the title game last year. This OSU team is not that one, just as the Florida team from this year is not last years. Are the polls and the BCS perfect? Of course not. But stop using schedule strength as your ONLY argument on how good a team is.

Huh? I'm saying what you do on the field is what counts. Schedule strength is important but not the only factor. Obv you glossed over my statement and chose to pick out only the things you could "zing" me with by pulling one statement out of the entire thing. Please :club:

lol, not glossing over anything bucknut........Not sure why you OSU fans are getting all excited about being undefeated after you saw what happened last year. IF you beat UM, and that is a big IF........you better pray that your BCS Bowl opponent is not from the SEC.......you don't want to be embarrassed again do you???

The problem with SOS is that the SEC's is way inflated to begin with. For instance TN is ranked right now... can someone tell me how? They got spanked by a middle of the pack Pac-10 team that isn't ranked and absolutely destroyed by a team ranked all of 4-5 spots in front of them, or did people forget what Florida did to them? When middle of the pack SEC teams get artificially inflated like this it boosts the SOS of every SEC team. TN isn't the only ranked SEC team that has no business in the top 25.

Because CBS wants as many ranked teams as possible for their telecasts.

Why do you not understand that last years team and this years team are totally different? This isn't the NFL where teams remain the same year after year.Based on the performance of LSU in their last few games, I'll take my chances. I hardly think the LSU offense would fair well against one of the top 5 defenses in the country.

I don't think it has anything to really do with CBS but the sports media in general has always had an East Coast bias and ever since Auburn got hosed out of getting in the national title game a few years ago in favor of Oklahoma the sports media has been trying to make it up to the SEC. It makes for fun debate and upsetting that we can't get a playoff system in place.

Tennessee is def overrated this year IMO, even though they killed UGA earlier.......UT is not by any means a bad team......just an average SEC team this year

dude you are making yourself look like a little bitch.......maybe one day when the Big 10 has MULTIPLE GAMES A WEEKEND WORTH TELEVISING they will get a good TV deal........geeeeeeez you have no clue

exactly......and i'm pretty sure it is only shown in the Big10 regions......outside OSU and Mich, and maybe PSU, there is not much national hype for Big 10 football........which is why they are never on ESPN primetime, unless it is one of the mentioned teams......

Wow, you have to resort to calling me a little bitch. Okay, lets look at the FACTS. CBS has a CONTRACT with the SEC to televise games on a weekly basis. From a purely marketing point of view, they want the teams to be ranked so they can ADVERTISE a "Top 25 SEC Showdown" between the two teams. The Big Ten Network actually has a nationwide audience because of the spread out alumni from all teams in the Big Ten. The fact that YOU don't enjoy watching Big Ten football does not mean there is not a national appeal. This is the common response of the self absorbed SEC fan who thinks no other teams in the nation can compete with them. How many teams from the SEC have won the BCS title since the inception? Florida. That's one. LSU won a share with USC, but otherwise they have not produced a national title in the last ten years. Based on the BCS, which I admit is flawed, the Big 12 has been most dominant.

the Big10 wouldn't have had to create a 'Big 10 Network' if their games had a nationwide demand............are you telling me they wouldn't prefer being on ESPN every Saturday night?

The Big Ten Network is a tiered cable or satellite selection. If there was no demand how would they make money? How many teams can compete each Sat night on ESPN?
