October turned out to be a decent month. Although my roll only grew by a few hundred $'s, I feel that I underwent some extreme growth in my overall game.I ran deep in 3 $3 rebuys (10th, 9th, and 9th ugh out of 2600+ entrants) and final tabled a couple of PL Omaha H/L $22 MTTs and a couple other 180 man SNGs. No wins though, so this is obviously very disappointing - I pride myself on knowing the endgame, but it just didn't work out in any of them.I also made it to step 5 from step 2 in the PCA and lost on a coinflip flip to RainKhan. So the trend of getting really close to huge scores is getting a little old, but I must have final tabled 8 tournies this month out of maybe 50-60 played, so I definitely feel good about that.My NLHE SNG confidence is through the roof right now - took 2nd out of 67 qualifiers in the PXF Subscriber SNG League ($20-100 division) with a 32.8% ROI.http://www.sharkscope.com/index.html?leaderboardid=121Without a doubt, I am playing the sickest poker of my life - now it is the time to turn the corner and make a few big scores.November Goals:First goal is to put school first for this month as this is my last full quarter of classes, I don't want to screw up my GPA. It's a little rough final tabling a $3 rebuy until 4am then waking up for 7 for class - I can't keep doing that (and if I do, I need to win the damn thing)- Monetary: 2k+ Profit through SNGs and MTTs- Win a MTT of over 200 people- Continue growing my MTT game- SNG Satellite into and play each Sunday Million when possible

Hey if you guys don't mind my jumping into strat, I think it would help if I set some goals for myself to strive for.Still working on what they will be, but I have a few ideas. This is going to be a rebuilding month for me as I took everything off of Full Tilt to have some spending money for the rest of the semester.Get PokerTracker. (check)Get September's rakeback in (~80) and turn it into ~150. (I got the rakeback and blew it playing too high. I then got some money from a buddy who was supposed to send me some ($25) and bought another $20 off of my buddy here at school. Played 10NL 6 max, got up 8 buyins but eventually lost it back. Build back up a little and went to 11.50 turbo HUs. Won 21/28 and went 3/3 in 22+1 turbo HUs. Built up to target goal. Went to .50/1 NLHU finding someone who bought in for $40 and buying in for the same and stacking them. Ran/played extremely well in those over a smallllllllll sample size and now have roll up over $500.)Work on sng's and try to get a decent ITM/Win% playing at least one a day. (**** SNGs. I can't seem to do anything right in the 9max ones. HU more then made up for it thought)Spend more time in the strat forums and work on improving my game overall. (A little bit. Not much, need to work on that for this month)
October graphs:HU, last three days of the monthhttp://img441.imageshack.us/my.php?image=1031430pmfa6.jpgOverall, October from about the 16th onhttp://img490.imageshack.us/img490/3988/octoverallxf0.jpgNovember Goals: Really work on my HU game a lot (Play at least ~10-15K hands)Continue to build a roll however worksGet back into 6max at 25NL and try to move up to 50NLTry to watch Jordan, Fluff, PT, and others who mainly play HU as much as possible to try to learn.Read the HOH series before I play another donkament.

Don't remember my October Goals and don't feel like looking them up, but I doubt I met any of them. October was shitty. Blew way more money than I could afford in Vegas and then made things worse when I got home although at least I'm not going to jail.Anyway, here are my goals for November:1. Make enough at 0.5/1 so that I have 30 BI for 1/2. I'm trying to be really careful to do things right this time, so that when I am rolled for 1/2 again, I'm not constantly taking shots at higher games until I flame out at 5/10 one night.2. Play enough hands on Stars to make 15,000 VPPs. I need ~31,000 VPPs before the end of the year to make Supernova and that would obviously be handy to have for next year. I figure that 30K hands a month should get me there which comes to just under 30 hours a week the way I play.

I plan to move out of small stakes Limit and move up to high stakes( which I am doing) 200/400 also start playing NL deep stacks again; but I am taken away from poker by NFL and sports betting which I like when I don't have to work. Poker is the work; also hunt down some rich private games were some big race horse owners play poker and lose 20 grand a day there are some good games going on if you can get into them the private market. So for high stakes you meet more tight players and raises but it is very loose in a private game of monied owners and bookies. I am going into soccer betting also many games to choose from; and last give up poker hand analysis for raw vegas TV.

October goal - $100 boost to my bankroll. (Failed, made $96.60 off 114 $2.40 sngs, lost $10.00 to tournaments, so $86.60 total for October). Also failed my unstated goal of playing at least 200 sngs.Stats - ITM - 60/114 or 53 per cent. ROI - 35 per cent.Stud Hi/lo $2.4 sng stats - 7/9 ITM 3/4/0/2 ROI - 100 per cent - Extremely small sample size, but I feel once I get down to the final four with at least an average amount of chips, I should be taking first or second. I've yet to place third and I've made first or second in my last six games. I'll crunch the numbers again when I hit 100 stud hi/lo sngs.November goals -$100 boost to my bankroll made by playing at least 200 sngs.Play a lot more stud hi/lo.

-4k in Oct.Goals for Nov: Don't play poker.
Shouldn't you set yourself a goal that's a little more realistic? How about just making your goal to win the Sunday million or something.

I have a question about running bad. (since cwik seems to be)I'm semi new to playing fulltime, so maybe i'm off.right now, my current week i was down 3bi's back to even then down 3bi's. I've only had 2 other weeks where i didnt have a profit. This week isnt over, but ,y 1st down session i didnt see any PP over JJ, and never hit anything on any flops. Today, never saw any PP over 9,9 and missed completely on almost everything, managed to get chips in the middle with a boat which was rivered by a higher boat.It was a horrible run of cards, and beats. Is it common for this to happen for an entire month? I find it hard to believe that I will lose more often than win in a full month of play.

It's certainly more feasible for you, Royal, as you're playing live, thus playing fewer hands. On the other side of the coin though, the games are probably softer live, so you'll probably hav shorter/smaller downswings comparatively, in terms of number of hands, and buyins.

I lost $1250 in October.Almost the entirety of that was lost at 1/2 6 max (running bluffs that got called, -$400, 9k hands) or 1/2 HU (playing bad players who held over me and some slight tilt -$1100, 3400 hands). I also ran about -$900 below expectation in AI situations. Basically, if I had rakeback and variance didn't **** me, I'd have made a little money on the month. I played about 17K hands. For November:I want to make $2000I want to play 20K handsMake my showdown winnings land within about 10% of my Sklanksy dollar winningsPlay a few more PLO and PLO8 sngs/tournies as the players are horrible at themFinish watching the torrent of about 60 Cardrunner Videos that I DL'd.I wrote a lot about my overall feelings of how I played in the blog, so I'm not gonna repeat them here. I probably made too many mistakes this month to have a winning month, but it should've been breakeven if Variance didn't screw with me, so I like my prospects for next month.

After a blackjack incident, I went busto last month for the first time in 2 years.I redeposited $50 and hope to run that up to at least $150 this month. Playing SSNLHE, this should easily be achievable.edit: No more blackjack ever.
