I think the official "Ride Kevlar's Nutz-for-a-Day Program" doesn't kick off for another few months. You're welcome to hop off that train right now until then.

I'd like to clarify that a 2k roll was enough for me at the time, but probably won't be now.

if I'm not mistaken, doesn't this training cost quite a significant amount of money. Like onlyme said, can you go into more detail on what the training consists of and what makes it worth whatever the price is that it costs? My lease is up in a month and I'm planning to move to orange county/LA area by spring time. my two step-sisters live in the OC and want me to come live out there for a while, so that could work out good for more in-depth, personal training. :club:

just lookup some of the old threads from steve on the matter.don't quote me on this but the number $200/per hour sounds familiar. if you can find a mentor that has as many kudos as steve then you'd know that the price more than pays for itself

Just wondering what the FCP training that is beening planed will look like and if they could use S7S, but I imagine that what Steve is doing is much more involved than and comercial product could ever be.
The training that Steve does doesn't concentrate on technical things. It's not really going to compete with something like CardRunners - more compliment it. I don't have any inside info on the FCP training stuff but I assume it'll be something along the lines of CardRunners/PXF.In book terms think Ace on the River as opposed to SSHE/HOH.

From my experience with the program, I would say it's 30% how to play the game, 70% how to think about the game. Your mileage may vary. It's also about access to some of the greatest poker players on this site -- many of the names you recognize. Look at the past graduation posts by Steve to see the names.I can tell you personally what it did for me. Before I started training, I had settled into being a marginal winner -- fractional BBs/100 winning. I couldn't seem to progress, because a lot of bad habits were locked in. Traning helped me break those habits. What happens when you break habits that have sort of worked for you? You lose ground until the new ones kick in. This is why it is recommended that you have a decent bankroll. You will be challenged to push yourself, to explore new ways of thinking about the game, and this may cost you some money. Some of the students pick it up immediately; others, like me, take a while. I feel like I am now ready, in a position to move to the next level of thinking about the game. The pieces are going back together in a healthier manner. I suspect this process will be repeated 100 more times in my life.As for the actual dollar amount, I can tell you if all the money you can devote to poker is a couple of buy-ins to $10 NL, this probably won't work. Other than that, the best thing to do is PM Steve and discuss costs and BR, as it is not really my place to discuss that.

After I created the thread yesterday I decided to go and play a session, got home and went to sleep. When I woke up, lots of questions were on the table. Many thanks to members of s7s for answering questions that were posted here, and some that were sent via pm. The questions that were sent in private message can essentially be answered here. How much do I charge for tuition? At this point and time the fee is 3k for six months. To some people that is an astronomical fee, to others that is a disant session.Who are my mentors? David Oppenheim and Ted Forrest. What stakes do I play? I am considered to be a high stakes player. I have played "some" of the highest stakes available. Recently I decided that I wanted to play smaller stakes. The stress and pressure from nosebleed limits were beginning to get to me. The swings one way or another were a bit too much in all honesty. I plan on dropping down a level or two. One of the things I teach is that you as a player have nothing to prove. You should not pick games because your ego tells you to do so. You should choose games that are the easiest to beat.Ace on the River vs. Harrington on Hold em/ SSHE/etc. Barry Greenstein and I are pretty friendly these days. I proof read his book when it was in manuscript form. I think his writing discusses a lot of essential topics for longevity in the poker world. The other books teach you things for specific situations. The analogy would be. "Give a man a piece of fish and he can eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he can eat for a lifetime."BR requirements? A couple of good examples are Adam(vick12), Teddy(tb17), and Mike(mikeysong). Adam wanted to train in the worst way, but he was VERY short on cash. I told him to donate what he could, and we would work the rest out when he had ample funds. He struggled for about a year. Ironically during that time, I wanted to see him play higher stakes, he just never had the liquidity to do so. Finally this last month he broke free and won about 150k in tourneys. Teddy was on a limited br, and asked if he could make payments that were divided into 3. Mike was interesting. He would routinely go bust, or extremely close to and was struggleing at 3-6 lhe. He had a nasty habit of playing blackjack trying to get even. Now he beats mid limit hold em games, and does training videos for lhe. I could go on about each student, but those are examples off of the top of my head.6 month training? All work is done online via msn messenger and e-mail. I also watch people when they play online (if I have time). Each monthly topic is designed to make you a more complete poker player. I firmly believe that after the six months you will have a solid foundation in what it takes to be successful at this game.Team Effort? s7s is an amazing group of individuals. People genuinely care about one another. We meet in Vegas or LA 4-5 times a year. We also used to spend a lot of time chatting online in (group chats). I say used to because I have been so incredibly busy. I have decided to take it easy a bit, and focus more on teaching for right now. However, I will still remain a busy individual. My first students were by far the luckiest. They had me online 8-12 hours a day. That will not be the case right now.Staking The Team? I am proud to say that I have staked each and every person who completed s7s training at one point or another. Marchant(cobaltblue) was largely responsible for breaking me even on my investment. JC(prtypsux) and Adam(vick12) all conveniantly won money when I was not staking them. Grrrrr.I hope that I have answered most of your questions. If you have others feel free to ask. This should also help specify what I am looking for, and what I expect from people. If you've sent me a pm. Please let me know that you've read this and understand the guidelines.Steve
