Johnny MossAnecdotesOne time Moss was playing in Oklahoma when he noticed a peep hole in the ceiling where someone was relaying information about cards to a player at the table. After Moss' threat to shoot the man if the hole wasn't plugged wasn't taken seriously, Moss ended up wounding him. Moss also regularly had to threaten people to get them to remove their clothes when he knew they were using mechanical cheating devices.Another time, Moss was playing high-stakes golf against a wealthy businessman. Going into the last few holes, Moss had lost over a quarter of a million dollars. The people who were sponsoring the match on Moss' behalf wanted to simply kill his opponent rather than pay, but Moss won the last few holes. The businessman told him, "Moss, you're the luckiest man alive." Moss responded, "No sir, you are."Lets go back to the OLD DAYS.Bunch of Bitches.

I'm completely serious.
I'm guessing they would hire a professional. If not, then I would like to submit myself for consideration as well. I would, like, totally hear both sides and do what's right, and I'm like a really good listener.

That makes absolutely no sense at all. If that were true, that would mean that they'd have this information, yet still agree to play the same match the next day. They did play the next day as well...
you are the only person claiming they played 72 holes, they said they walked off before 18 were even complete. something still doesnt add up.

I think Ivey is just screwed. I've often wondered what prevents the modern high stakes gamblers from just refusing to pay their debts. Ivey has no legal recourse, he can't exactly go to the police with this. And while Goodwin and ram might get black balled by US players, so what? They can still play in tournaments, they can still find poker games, online and in the flesh. In the old days, fear of injury and death is what made you pay up. These days, what can a gambler do?

Just had a revelation/big question that relays toward the whole 'hustle' angle. If Ivey were hustling wouldn't he have sanbagged a little in the first round? He crushed these guys with no apologies and they came back for more with 100% knowledge of his play level.A dishonest man intent on extracting the most money wouldn't win so easily at first right? Isn't that the whole basis of a scam-ola?An honest man plays his best game and moves on from there, giving away his skill level and all that off the bat really lends itself toward a guy just playing hard.Yeah, he got strokes that it looks like he didn't need. But these guys had beaten him before so a rematch at even doesn't make sense to Ivey does it, or even less strokes than he got before, cuz he lost at that level. They're whining that he practiced?? Really. That's your arguement... 'dammit Phil got better, we ain't payin'!' Very strange.

IM SORRY BUT WHAT A LOAD OF SHIZER I HAVE NEVER HEARD ANYTHING MORE RETARDED IN MY LIFE AND PEOPLE HAD BETTER STOP SPOUTING CRAP THIS INSTANCE. FIRSTLY SO WHAT IF IVEY LIED SLIGHTLY ABOUT HIS HANDICAP ITS NOT A GOOD ENOUGH EXCUSE TO TRY AND WEASEL OUT OF SHELLING OUT THE DOSH , IT WOULD HAVE BEEN DIFFERENT IF IVEY HAD SAID HE WAS LIKE 28 AND IN REALITY HE WAS LIKE 9 HANDICAP. SECONDLY IF YOU IDIOTS BELIEVE IVEY WAS WRONG THAN DO YOU THINK THAT IN POKER IF SOMEONE MAKES OUT TO BE REALLY CRAP AND FISHY BUT FOOLS YOU AND TAKES ALL OF YOUR MONEY IS A FRAUD? WOULD YOU ASK FOR YOUR MONEY BACK OR NOT PAY THAT PERSON ???????????? OF COURSE NOT. IM GLAD I HAVE SORTED THIS OUT AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED YOU CAN LOCK THIS THREAD I HAVE RESOLVED THE ISSUE.

They do not claim that. They are very vague in what they claim, which makes me think they are in the wrong. Here is a link to Marc response to a forum post:http://www.blondepoker.com/index.php?q=node/7225Highlights:As anyone who plays golf would know, when playing better ball doubles it is very hard to win by 3 or more holes, they finished 14 up lol. We have had the better of Phil in golf games over the last year but our biggest victory was 3 up. We had been spanked but arranged a new revised game later that week. We went out together that night (even though we have severed ties and have all this supposed ill feeling). Later on we met Eric who informed us that he gives Phil NO SHOTS. We therefore felt aggrieved and Ram asked Phil for an apology. As to whether we pay or not will be discussed in Vegas in April when we next meet. Let me put this question to you all. If I had turned up with a pro golfer, said we get 10 shots off Erik, before playing and winning, should he pay even a penny? If you think that he has been hustled not cheated and it's just unlucky then you must be of the opinion that we should pay. In saying that, if when we meet and we cant agree we will probably pay and sever ties. To gain an edge, yes, to win at all costs, no thank you. I will let you all know the outcome this April."So they arranged another game and then sometime after that they found out Eric was not giving any strokes.

As someone already pointed out, if you have a reputation as not paying your losses, good luck getting anyone to give you any action, especially High Stakes action. For example, you'll never get a seat at the Big Game.

The only thing that needs to be locked (AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED) based on this first post is your account.

The big game is open to everyone as its in a public casino. They have no say who plays and who doesn't.

What exactly do you think they did by making this whole thing public and posting it on the internet. Let's be clear on this, Phil nor I were the ones to make this situation public, it was the blog posted by Goodwin that made it a public affair. Ivey would never do that in a million years. They wrote a piece that potentially tarnishes the name and reputation of a highly respected US player. Since I had an account of Phil's side of the story, with his permission I posted a different side of the story. In the first public statement made by Goodwin, there was no mention at all of Ivey's side of the story.
Daniel - I'm sorry - but I had never read Goodwins post ( and I am a big reader of blogs and forums). Neither had thousands of others. That is your power. You reach thousands of people. Other blogs reach 40 at most. Do two wrongs make a right? "They started it"?People accept your blog as the definitive word. Please look at Barny Boatman's post on the Hendon mob site. http://www.thehendonmob.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13816. These guys are hugely respected in Europe. I ask you (as a huge fan of both yourself and the Hendon mob) to try and sort it out. Its not good for you or Phil or the Hendonmob or poker. Sort it out. Please.

Yes its a public casino. But i guarantee you if those two walk in to Bobbys Room, that Doyle, Chip, DN, Jen, David B et al get up and leave. You need players to have the game. use your head. Not that either of those two would ever attempt to play in it, I think they know better.

Lol... I guarantee you they wouldn't.Someone could have just got shot, and wild horses just come crashing through the door, ... Those guys arn't leaving their game (especially if they're running good!).And it's not like they are going to grab a load of chips from the table and run away with them if they lose. There is security at the Bellagio, you know.

IS IT MY IMAGINATION OR ARE THERE AN ABUNDANCE OF MORONS ON THIS FORUM??? , THE AMOUNT OF DRIVEL THAT HAS BEEN SPOUTED HERE WOULD SUGGEST THIS.
Imagination? Stare at the dot below for ten seconds and, if all that you see is the dot, your imagination is fine:devilhq1.gif

thanks for taking my statement literally. lol.Not that they would leave, but the session wouldn't continue at that location with a full table for or any general enthusiasm for too long.

No, they just won't get any action without posting the money up first. And I think you may be wrong about Ram in the Big Game. As long as he posted the money up front, I think many of the high stakes players would be licking their chops to get him in that game.
