Not even your best xbox 360 game. I think I could beat his *** at Tiger Woods
Lol.. I don't know, he would probably practice non stop for a full week and then show up all, "What does this button do? We can make it a thousand if you want."

Wasn't there a video on here somewhere where the Hendon Mob, got clipped for a grip of cash by poker cheats?I think they got their money back but if it wasn't staged....makes all this very ironic.

You are talking about this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BCzLrZZPkAsIts just a TV program where they "hustle" people and then cheat basically. They were made aware of what it was afterwards. You have to think that both Ram and Marc are very aware of the implications within gambling circles of not paying up a lost bet, so it is probably best to keep an open mind now. These guys aren't exactly new kids who aren't familiar with what goes on.

A well written post. However, they have been heard from and presented their side of the story in the blog post written by Marc. The post is full of holes IMO, and even if what they said was accurate (I don't beleive it to be) it would have no bearing on whether they lost the money and should pay in full. What justification could they have for not even paying the portion that they won from Phil, which is approximately $220,000? I have heard thier side of the story, but frankly, I don't think they have a leg to stand on here. Whether they feel like they got hustled or not, they gambled, lost... and now need to pay.
Without getting involved with whos right and whos wrong as that is for the parties involved and no one elseDN has a very valid point - as a poker player when you try and find a table to sit at, you always size up your opponents and play at a table that you believe is the most advantageous to you.You then dont play for 12 hours, realise its a bunch of sharks and you are down a packet and then say sorry guys you were hustling me Im not paying. You make that decision at the start and whatever happens after (no matter what) is a result of that decision. Good or bad

How can you play this many holes and have no clue what's going on. I mean, you would have to be a complete idiot. Golf is NOT poker. You can not say, damn this guy is running good on the golf course, maybe if we up the stakes he will start to run bad again and I can get back to even. After he beat you the first 9-18 holes by a wide margin, wouldn't you think something was up? Does Ram want everyone to think that he was a moron and that he had no clue what was going on? If you lose a bet, you need to pay up. Ivey was NOT holding a gun to there heads and saying, you must finish these 18 holes, and play with me another couple rounds. I think Ram has 2 legs, and is perfectly capable at any point of this to get up and walk away. PAY UP

http://www.fullcontactpoker.com/poker-foru...showtopic=96204How likely do you guys think it is that Daniel has been promised a % of the 1.6 million owed if Ivey is able to recoup it?I will go first: 100%I can't believe he would intervene in this issue, tarnish his name, create enemies in the poker world, all for nothing. I wouldn't even be surprised if he gets half of what is paid. He is basically acting as Ivey's publicist, and since there is no contract and there is no documentation of their gambling Ivey will have a hard time collecting. In any case, if you aren't getting part of the debt Daniel then you are the one being hustled.

Phil is my good friend. He is getting a raw deal here. I'm going to say something any and everytime something like this happens to a friend of mine. I'm not getting any % of anything. I've always stuck up for my friends publicly and it's never been financially motivated. It just bothered me so much that people were talking badly about Phil in this instance, when he is the one that's out a bunch of money he is owed.

I would say almost 0%. DN talks about a lot of things in his blog. It's obviously on Phils mind and hes obviously talked to DN about it, so DN thought he should say something. Just like if he thinks the WSOP structure sucks or whatever

whats the issue here? I think everyone that supports DN realizes why he has taken the stance he has...If you don't understand and question DN's integrity....then as posted before, you must not have many friends.

Thanks for offer dude, but that's really not how I tick. I say things I mean, I don't pull punches, and I have no interest in being a politician. I also have no interest in comprimising my thoughts because they won't be popular with everyone.

Besides he's spose to help me make a one of a kind beer, he's got no time for a publicist. Aren't publicists basically "yes" men anyways...yes you are the greatest, yes this, yes that. Ultimately leading to a celebrities false perception of who they are.

I just wanted to say that anyone that knows anything about gambling knows they should pay up. Way to stick up for your mates. This section of the forum seems to have a troll infestation.

Back when we were in High School I had a two buddy's who got in this all day game on Bill Walsh football on Sega Genesis, They started at $20 a game and after it was well over $100 they started playing double or nothing. It got so bad and the one who kept losing was so on tilt they started doing doulbe all but $100 or nothing until it reached $96,000. Now obviously a highschool kid is not going to pay a bet like that or have the means to, but the one who kept winning new that he could at least get $100 out him so after literally 8 straight hours of this he threw the last game, took his hundo and was done with it. The one that kept losing decided to talk **** after winning the last game, when we all new that the game was thrown to him because the dollar amounts were so ridiculous at that time.I am not saying that is the case here, but Ram and Marc could have gotten so behind the bubble they thought there only way out was a double or nothing tyoe game, hence the raising of the staks, and maybe they thought there was no way they could keep losing and at least mitigate there losses, and were wrong.BTW who was Ivey playing with? And if they gave him 10 strokes and lost by 14 wasn't he beating them by 4 straight up?

yah i guess if it was a debt that was unrealistic amount of money that would make sense, i'm out 46 million to a friend of mine off Golden Tee, I'll never see that kind of money....realistically. So i just pick up the tab when we go out partying. (not always) The difference being that I don't think these wagers were unrealistic amounts, I could be wrong though.

what i mean is helping you manage your image while you act morally. I'm not talking about doing anything against your beliefs, but you are busy and I think I could help manage your position as a celebrity.

Since I have less then 10,000 posts this means you most likely should stop reading now or I may do things other then post on FCP. I think a there are only a few things that need to be considered in this issue.1. Does the amount of the win affect whether or not ivey is getting paid. I think the answer is of course. If he won 100k I think it would never have gone this far. For any amount less then 200k I think this debt would be paid, so there is no reason it shouldn't just because it is larger.2. How did the debt get so high. If in fact Ivey was hustling them, wouldn't he be the one raising the stakes? I think it is obvious that from both sides the increases in limits were at Ram's and Marc's request. Ivey was only doing as they wished, which is honorable since he was risking what he had already won. 3. Lastly, how long is it reasonable to figure out what Ivey's true ability was and walk away. Most professional golf tournaments are 72 holes, which is to give the best player a chance to win. Surely though the leader after 36 holes is rarely if ever an unknown. Surely after two rounds there had to be a sure measure of Ivey's new level of golf skill. If there was a handicap issue I am sure they could have adjusted the levels before the start of the second day. Also if Ivey's intention was to slow roll, then the scores should go down with each round played. If that is not the case then you can't claim that he intentionally slow rolled them. Furthermore at any point Ram and Marc could quit and chose not to. That means they continued to believe there was a far bet. I think they need to pay the man.

I can't believe anyone would argue that these guys had any reason not to pay!I mean really?? They had played the man before, taken his money and were keen (DESPERATE) to beat him out of some more. The fact that he had improved has no bearing on the outcome. Lets be serious, they rubbed their hands together in joyful anticipation of the loot they were about to score, had their arses kicked, continued to play in the hope of breaking even, didn't and welched.Poor poor form.

I haven't read through all of this, but doesn't anyone think it's a possibility that these guys just don't have the money to pay Ivey and are using the "he cheated" excuse to try and get out of this? We just assume that since they're betting that much that they actually have the money. There is always alot of dicussion on here about how much money pro poker players actually make and a 1.whatever million loss on a golf corse is more than enough to bust someone.

Ivey has tried calling them to no avail. He even went to Europe to discuss it in person. As for me doing this for Ivey, he specifically asked me to. He was upset that people were writing lies about him and asked me to blog it since he knows my blog has a wide audience.
Why the encryption in the blog and no mention of Ivey's name?

I'm just so completely uninterested in cultivating my position as a celebrity. Seriously, all I really want to do is play poker, write what I want to write, play my fantasy sports, and not worry about what my position as a celebrity is.
