Villain is a 'dingle nut'. He has an ROI of -19%. Shouldn't that affect our decision?
Maybe a bit but most 'dingle nuts', like their aces so I still don't like my chances in this particular situation.

Ya. And you've seen me play? Or you automatically assume everyone is a donkey? How about you look up ppl on sharkscope before calling them donks? Or are stats overrated and you need a title before you can be considred good? So that means, because I'm 18 I have no way of being considered good as I'm not old enough to play live. Geez....some people are so ignorant
So you're saying that you are as good as DN? Because all the OP said was "You're not as good as DN post-flop." There's plenty of room between DN and donk status. You're not beating anything on a fairly coordinated board. I think it's a fairly easy fold.

personally i think kk is good here. good chance at least.
Sure but when you're up against a medium/strong ace instead of a flush draw, you just spike a king.

Its certainly a big possibility. Villians line here is a pretty standard line for a bluff/semi bluff especially against a Hero who is known to c-bet.

Good players know when their card is coming.Should I have posted this in the pros vs. amateurs thread?

I'm not in the league of the people who disagree but it's also a pretty standard line for a strong ace without a heart.

The reason why 90% of this forum plays micro limits is too much focus on preflop play and too little focus on post flop play.Oh yeah, and I'm in that 90% too but at least I know its because of my postflop play and has very little to do with my preflop play.

I have a tight/agressive image at the table. Villain is donkey on sharkscope and is loose.PokerStars Game #8410248885: Tournament #42864986, $110+$9 Hold'em No Limit - Level III (25/50) - 2007/02/12 - 18:41:25 (ET)Table '42864986 1' 6-max Seat #2 is the buttonSeat 1: GabeTheKid (1295 in chips) Seat 2: DaMaKa (2710 in chips) Seat 5: RokinRT (3070 in chips) Seat 6: jhub3000 (1925 in chips) RokinRT: posts small blind 25jhub3000: posts big blind 50*** HOLE CARDS ***Dealt to GabeTheKid [Kc Ks]GabeTheKid: raises 75 to 125DaMaKa: folds RokinRT: calls 100jhub3000: folds *** FLOP *** [3h Ah 7h]RokinRT: checks GabeTheKid: bets 250RokinRT: calls 250*** TURN *** [3h Ah 7h] [9d]RokinRT: bets 950GabeTheKid: ????
Seeing as there has been no resolution and this is getting some attention still I'll voice in. I like the PF raise fine, that's my standard raise later in tourneys, but if you feel comfortable this early then go with it. You must feel confident in your post flop game. That's a pretty sucky flop for your hand. Your raise didn't narrow villain's range significantly, still people will call raises with Aces more than with other cards. His check doesn't tell you much because most people that hit or miss check to the raiser. You standard continuation bet, he smooths it.At this point he either has Ax where X is not a heart. A flush and he's going to let you hang yourself. One heart probably 10+ Or he floated with air to try and take it away on the turn. Once he bets out puting you all in on the turn when a relatively harmless offsuit 9 comes it's apparent he didn't flop a monster. He could still have Ax and not want to let you check for your possible free heart, he could have something like 9x where x is 10,j,q,k of hearts. Or he could be bluffing to try and push you out when the harmless turn came.Seeing as there are all of these possibilities I'm kind of lost in the hand. I tend to think this play is made more often with Ax than it is being a random float. Especially floating OOP, that's rare, even though he has "position" to fire out on the turn. I'd probably muck and give him credit for the Ax with no heart.

Some good discussion on this hand. Here is what happened. After going into the tank until i had 5 sec left, I decided to call because I couldn't put him on a hand that beats me and makes this play. Unfortuantely he flipped over 59 of hearts and I lost. I still think I made the right call. Too often than not, he'll be drawing with a high heart and a nine.
