Very Disappointed That I Bought Stacked /w Daniel Negreanu

Recommended Posts

The real issue here is the simple fact that STACKED doesn't follow the Universal Rules of Texas Hold'em and Dan W. of myelin media support has given an absurd response to the problem. ................This guy Dan W. is obviously a joke but he has been the only person to speak on behalf of the company and until we hear from somebody else we are left only to believe that STACKED doesn't use or intend to use the universal rules of Texas Hold'em.
Hey guys,I would like to put this issue straight on behalf of 5000ft, the developer of Stacked. I am one of the developers of the game and do not want you guys thinking Stacked is playing with dueces wild or any other crazy rules.... :)Stacked is playing with the regular rules of hold-em as you would expect. The game considers the top 5 cards of the 7 playable. In this case, of the board winning with a full house, we do not consider any hole cards (or the color of your shirt or anything else) to make a payment decision. My apologies that this was incorrectly reported by support. As an added precaution, we did setup this scenario in our debugger to make sure there was no odd bug in this particular case. We are unable to reproduce the problem. (the resulting pay out we captured and was posted in this thread).Hope this clears this issue up for you guys....

Yay, easy explanation, now does this mean that the dan guy from support at Myelin Media gets fired?
No, because this RenoBrit is not legit. One of DN's fanboys trying to calm the situation with this fake post.

Isn't poker games for consoles more directed towards kids/teens that aren't old enough to play REAL poker online? If you want real fun online go play online poker for real money...
you'd think.

Thank you for looking into the problem, for that you get a big kudos from me.I saw the screen shot, and it looks like in your debugging scenario, the pot was split just fine. I want to do everything I can to help you guys, I'm a big fan of Daniel and I really want this game to be the best poker video game on the market, so here are a few more details that may help you guys out.In both situations I encountered where the whole pot was awarded to one player when it should have been split (the K2 vs. 33 and the A6 vs. A6) one of the two players in the hand was all-in, and both situations were in the single-player game in a multi-table tournament. In both situations, the player who was all-in was eliminated from the tournament, and the player who had him covered was awarded the total sum of the pot. I am using the Xbox version of Stacked. And on a personal note, I know I already said it once in this thread but feel like repeating it. For all the people who think buying a poker video game is for the fish, you just don't seem to grasp the idea that people might have reasons that you don't have for playing a poker video game rather than playing online for real or play money. I bought Stacked because, well, Daniel sold me on it. I was anticipating playing it for quite a long time, but I finally went out and bought it a few days before having surgery. I knew I was going to be in bed recovering for some time, and I knew that I would be on painkillers and probably would not be feeling too well in general. Now, would any of you 'pros' play money poker under those circumstances? I know that I sure don't feel like taking that risk. So I wanted to play some poker, and find playing play-money tables online boring. I like video games, I like poker, and I like Daniel, so I guess that makes me a total freak. Wow.

. I bought Stacked because, well, Daniel sold me on it.
Next time, I suggest putting higher stock in the opinion of someone who wasn't paid handsomely to endorse a product, and less stock in the opinion of someone who was.

Haha, trust me, this taught me my lesson. This is the first time since I was a minor that I bought a video game without reading up on it, hearing about it from a trusted friend, or being a fan of the developer's previous games. But hey, gotta pat Daniel on the back, he did a great job promoting Stacked, that is what ended up making me pick it up without reading any reviews.

I have the game, played it for about an hour or so and want to break the hell out oof it. It is very very slow to the point where you can fall asleep and wake up and its still not your turn. I wouldnt know anything about a bug unless it's snail pace is a bug but I', trying to figure out a way in which I can return this stupid game.

First lets be real here! Daniel probably has never seen this situation while playing the game or it would have been FIXED pre release.Second the person responding to these complaints hasn't a clue of the game of Texas Holdem... he/she sure doesn't know their whole from their hole.Third the game has just been released... give the developers a chance to FIX] the bugs as they pop their ugly little heads up...But moronic replys from customer support dosen't get the bugs to the programmers. Their customer support staff MUST know the rules of the games that are supported by "Stacked".The following reply looks to be a boiler plate.

Hello,The player must make the best 5 card hand, but must include at least 1 of thecards from his hole cards, or 2. As the board is identical for all players, they then need to look to see the best hands that they can make using theirwhole cards. The pocket 3s is clearly the better hand to combine with theboard, so the result is correct.
The Original Poster should go on line to one of the poker room sites that have the rules of the games posted and copy them and includ the rules for all games that Stacked supports. Then ask the only question that makes any sense: If only five cards are used in deciding the best hand and either or both players can play "the board"... Then why is customer support at Meylin Media re Stacked coming up with this bogus ruling. As I see it there is a misconception re the use of hole cards in Texas Holdem: The rules are that one or two of the players hole cards can be used to make the best five cards... and someone at Meylin Media has misconstrewed this to mean that players must use one or two of their hole cards. The difference is in the meaning of can and must.Someone is confusing Texas Holdem with Omaha.***************************OOpppssssssPosted this too soon... should have read ALL of the posts ... Post from the developer is very promissing. New info from OP may help them locate the problem quicker. They still have a knowledge barrier in their support staff to work out tho.

Thanks shufly, this certainly helps narrow the conditions for a bug occurance. We are trying to reproduce the problem with these more detailed conditions in place. We are going to be rolling any fix we find for this and the other problems we have fixed into a new patch.

any chance you can roll the 'speed mode' while you are still to act (to speed up game) and some UI tweaks (specifically the ability to type in bet amount) into that patch?

We currently only make speed mode active when you are no longer in the hand.To be clear - you think the game would play better if you are able to have speed mode at any time? (obviously, this only applies to single player games).

I think maybe as an extra option you could speed up the action before it gets to you or speed all the action during a hand would be fine, but it should just be another option. I think the current speed mode is alright, as you wanna see what the players do before it gets to you, and watch their animation/listen to their speech. As I understand, you guys have given the players 'tells', and if that is something the player is interested in playing around with, they need to be able to watch the action, but still be able to go into speed mode once they fold out of the hand...
