Oziumrules 0
Good Luck to him! He has exactly a .00003 % chance of getting his unconditional PGA Tour card. Which means he has NO shot. But, stranger things have happened.

Jargonator 0
it'd be pretty amazing if he was even able to break 70 consistently on his home course after fives years, let alone earn a pgatour card at the q school.

pbcsurfer 0
It'll never happen, he has one "career day" and thinks he can make it on tour. ^^^^Funniest thing I've seen in a while, nice one doox.
memphis-sc 0
by no means do i think he could "make it on the pga tour", but it is a real possibility he could qualify for a PGA event through local qualifiers. Normally you just need a low enough official handicap, and fork over maybe $1,000 for a one day shot at a few spots, usually at a pretty lame course (although you normally have to shoot a 66 or 65 to have a chance). Its a super long shot, but by no means impossible.
zimmer4141 0
What people often miss is how tough PGA Tour courses are. I know this is an extreme example, but one of the players at the US Open last year at Winged Foot said that a 10 handicapper couldn't break 120 on that course.
Worm109 0
Paul wasicka is stupid...there is zero chance this will happen...he is one of those guys that thinks its just as easy to go from shooting 100 to 80 as it is to go from shooting 80 to 70...careering it and shooting 78 is so far away from breaking 70....a good test to see how good you are is to find a public course where the pga tour plays, play it from the tips, and add about 5-7 shots atleast to your score to account for higher rough and faster greens that they play during the actual tournament
Jerry_Lundegaard 0
In other news..The other day I made 8 free throws in a row... and I'm easily one of the top four players at my weekly pick-up basketball game. Bonzium 0
i love the ****ing negativity of this place. If you could drop 30 strokes in 3 months you'd be thinking the same thing. I know i would anyways cuz that'd put me in the 50's.... . In all seriousness though I applaud the man for giving this a shot and wish him all the best because i envy the **** outta him. *Lone*Trout* 0
You guys gotta stop mackin on the Goldster. I have to say, in every appearance since the WSOP, he has been funny, humble, down right hang outable. He just went on a run like we all dream of. Except the pay out (minus legal fees, etc.) was much higher than we'll ever see (maybe).........lol.*L*T*

mrdannyg 274
Zimmer makes the relevant point here - Wasicka would have to be shooting low 60's on his home course consistently to even have a sniff of a shot. The PGA courses are tough as balls, and most guys who are some of the best in their area would need the round of their life to shoot a 75.

TheCinciKid 0
What people often miss is how tough PGA Tour courses are. I know this is an extreme example, but one of the players at the US Open last year at Winged Foot said that a 10 handicapper couldn't break 120 on that course.I think this is a gross exaggeration. AT BEST, I'm maybe a 12-15 handicapper on my home course (which is pretty easy). Maybe a 20 or so playing from the tips at a course of average difficulty. I think it would be pretty easy to break 120 even at an incredibly tough course like Winged Foot. It's all about playing within your game and course management. Could I break 100 there? Maybe not, but 120 is a huge number of a decent golfer to shoot. I don't see how it couldn't be easily broken by just taking a club you know you can hit straight (even if you can only hit it 200 yards) and just going for fairways and greens. Take a 460 yard par 4 with thick rough on both sides and bunkers guarding the green. Here's what I'd do. 210 yard 3-wood off the tee. Leaves me with about 250. Lay up with a pitching wedge. Hit wedge or 9-iron into the green depending on exact distances. 3-putt for a 6. 120 can easily be broken by playing that way. 100? a little tougher, but 120 seems pretty easy. OVERKILL 0
I totally agree that he will have an extremely tough time trying to reach this goal. I know scratch golfers that cant put back to back rounds together when qualifying for their PGA cards. (and all you have to do is shoot even par or better for 2 rounds). However if someone can do it, he MIGHT just be that guy. I remember his ESPN interviews where they ask him how he got started in poker, and he said he entered a tourney with his friend, and took 4th. NEVER having played NLHE.The guy has been on a tear lately, and I'd hate to see him give up poker, because I respect his game alot, and think he offers MORE to the poker community, than Jamie Gold EVER will. BUT to each his own. .......MAYBE that Neg-ree-ahno guy can make a comeback to the poker world.....................
