Kayyen 0
Hey Folks,Tonight I was sitting at a 4/8 table at my local casino when the bad beat hit!!! $5100 richer.. that's certainly the biggest payday I've ever hit... I wish I could say I had played for it.. but.. I'm happy either way.Anyhow, question for everyone on etiquette. Because dealer tips are pooled, tipping at the table is futile as all hell. However, one of the other players got the dealers phone # so that we can arrange meetings and tip if we feel so inclined. Any thoughts on whether or not I should call him and set something up to tip him or whether that is not really necessary/appropriate?Thanks
SopotBoy 0
not sure where you were playing at but in all Poker rooms in Las Vegas the dealers get to keep their own tips.
Smasharoo 0
Any thoughts on whether or not I should call him and set something up to tip him or whether that is not really necessary/appropriate? Ludicrously innapropriate unless you're trying to get laid.
QWithATray 0
i'd say the loser of the hand / winner of the bad beat and probably the winner/loser should tip the dealer (outside of the casino if necessary), the others don't need to worry about itwhich casino?
KingAustin 0
You're contemplating on going out of your way to give someone money for doing their job correctly? Hey, I might have helped you somehow indirectly sometime in my life, so why dont you just come over to Iowa and give a few to your old pal Austin?
Kayyen 0
Right on... sounds like concensus is I can keep my money!!!It was the River Rock (is there another one in Vancouver with a jackpot??)
711Buddha 0
I would expect the jackpot winner to manage the dealer tip. I've never heard of pooled dealer tips anywhere. If they are, then the dealer should share his windfall, that's the deal he made to land the gig.
QWithATray 0
river rock's tip pooling is retardednot only to the poker dealer's tips get pooled, but they get distributed to the entire casino staff - other table game dealers, cleaning staff, etc.it does not provide the incentive to be a good dealer... Eagle15C 0
All the casinos I've been to in Michigan they pool all the tips from all the table games and everybody gets a cut. Soaring Eagle, Turtle Creek and Leelanau Sands
mrdannyg 274
in all the casinos i've ever been to, tips are pooled, not just between all the dealers, but all the floor staff pretty much.this of course only goes for casinos in ontario, so i dunno, maybe its a canadian thing?
