Yep. I had a sickie one day so I could play a couple of tourneys (I finished +$1300 that day) and because my XBox 360 that I won was due to arrive.I was also considering ditching work today to take at shot at the FTOPS event.

don't know if this exactly counts, but i think it does. i had a summer gig as a telemarketer between years at college. i was actually sick, but showed up for work anyway. i knew the company was going through "tough times" and, while in this crunch, would send home employess who weren't producing...so...being sick...i kinda tanked it so i could get sent home in time to make it to the local casino before the 11am tourny.didn't pay off, though. it never does.

Never called in sick but I used to take "extended lunch breaks" to play the 12:30 daily tourney at the casino that was across the parking lot from my office...like 3 days a week :club:

i called in sick to go play a cash game at Motor City Casino...I just felt like playin' so i called in; said I had a huge migrane or somethin. Ended up running my stack up to 1400 in 6 hours at 1/2 nl.Good decision i think.

In an indirect way I have. I was playing on a Tuesday night and planned on only playing until midnight. I ended up staying until 5:30 AM and would have to leave by 7:15 to get to work on time. I tried to sleep for an hour and it didn't work at all. I ended up calling in sick that day.So technically, I have called in sick to play poker.

I have promised myself that next time I cash big $500 or higher, I'm calling out the next day as a treat to myself, so I guess that's foward planning of calling in sick...

YUM! I love a chocolate chip blizzard with chocolate ice cream. But not real chocolate chips...I like the hardening chocolate sauce mixed in! +EVOh, and yes I take extended lunch breaks sometimes too. Sometimes the cash games on lunch break are very juicy and I slip and play for 2 hours.I don't think I have technically used a sick day just to play poker. If I am really sick and take a day off, I definitely play poker though. I am the type of person to save my off days and show up to work even if I am sick. I prefer to use a few days at a time to go to Vegas or AC since our sick/vacation leave is grouped together as "PTO."
