i dont think their is a big difference between most of the people u listed. they all can win and go on hot streaks like lindgren. the best player doesnt usually win. their is just to much luck involved in tournament poker

i know this.buti think the argument that was at hand for most of this post is that he is not seperated from a large field of other good tournament players is.and i disagree, i think he is in a very elite few of players that are much better than everyone else, and at the moment, he is the best (hottest) player in the world.

Lindgren is playing some sick poker. He won tons of money on the internet. The dude is a tournament poker specialist. There are a lot of good poker players out there but he has the ability to make the right decisions to last in tournaments to the end. He might not make fancy moves but if I had to pick any professional player to outlast the 5000 players in the 2005 WSOP then I would pick Lindgren. He's due and he's hot. That's a tough combination to beat.

The PPT is a spin-off of the WPT.  It stands for Professional Poker Tour and it's basically an invitational-only tournament circuit.  Almost all the names in the field are "somebodies" to one degree or another (i.e. Doyle Brunson, Daniel Negreanu, Hamid Dastmalchi, Antonio Esfandiari, Jerry Buss, people like that).The point I believe Absolute is trying to make is from that field the majority of players are winners to some degree, as opposed to amateurs.  Thereby making the random selection for the proposed bet interesting.

You are kind of right...It is not just an invite only event....You qualify for it kind of like the PGA, by winning or placing in large buy-in events. WPT, WSOP. Also each host casino gets to choose a player they would like to represent them in the tourny. Which is why I would love some of absolute's bet. But I do understand his point....Eric is really turing it up right now!!!!
