First Time Lo8 @ B&m

I am going to play 3/6 lO8 at the casino by my apartment. This is gonna be the first live lo8 ive ever played, and was wondering how B&m plays compared to online cash games, is it like hold 'em , where games play much softer? I know every casino is different but generalizations here are fine. Also, the game is a full kill, so sitting with $200 is okay? Finally, any links to good lo8 high low articles on 2+2 or P5 would be awesome. thanksDidn't get to play in vegas.

There are a couple great LO8 posts in the sticky at the top of this forum.*********************I've also never played B&M LO8, but I get a little hard thinking about it. I can only imagine it's like 6 people to showdown. Make hands, and bet/raise them. Also, pump the huge multiway pots when you've got multiway draws, etc.

Live O8 players are the worst players I have ever seen. I used to regularly play 5/10 DC which is 70% O8 and would crush it, especially the O8 portion and Im probably only a breakeven online O8 player. The players play way too many hands preflop and chase everything postflop and just flat out make poor postflop decisions. If you are just a decent player you should crush this game. Good luck.200 dollars is fine to sit with.

I agree $200 is fine to sit with. In the live play I've seen at Foxwoods (4-8 with half kill) the play is much less aggressive. Very rarely will you see a pot capped preflop or 3 bet after the flop

If it's limit, please just make sure you have 12 BB before each hand. Or 15 if it's a 5 bet cap.There's no excuse for having the nuts and not being able to get max value because you're all in on the turn in a limit game.

The most frustrating part of playing LO8 is not having a capable/competent dealer. The hands can move VERY slowly, and their hand-reading skills are often mediocre at best. Apart from that, go nuts. The only advice I can give you- based on my own experience- is to be more aggressive preflop in late position than you normally would. When players are limping with trash, you're often correct to punish with holding that might only have the second-most equity in the pot. You also need to figure out what EP preflop raises do to the table, and adjust accordingly. If you're getting 5 way action from trash hands with A24K when you boost it up, don't hesitate to ignore going for limp-overcalls by playing good one-way hands passively upfront. Wang

bingo. learn your flop odds, and extract value every time. normally, you should be playing pretty tight when you play at very loose tables that are impossible to read, so if you don't get counterfeited, you should be capping the flop a fair amount of the time.
