Recommended Posts

Im going to Tunica in a couple months Im probaly going to take like $4000 with me. What is a better money maker down there. 2/5 NL or 20/40 limit. If there even is 20/40 down there. Staying at the horseshoe any need to go anywhere else. Thanks

If u like NL u can find 2/5 at the horseshoe or Goldstrike. The Shoe does have a 20/40 limit game that runs all the time, the highest limit game Goldstrike usually has is 6/12 which i have only seen run 1 time shorthanded. The Goldstrike N/L games seem to be a bit softer and they have a badbeat of like 200K+. I usually go about once a month but have not been in the last 2 months but that this info should be pretty accurate. Goodluck

I always stay at the Goldstrike when I go Tunica, but I have tried out about every poker room down there. As long as you avoid the tables filled with mostly locals, you'll do fine. There is usually a younger crowd at the Horseshoe, almost completely locals at the Hollywood, mostly drunk locals at Sam's Town. The Grand has some nice tournaments. I mainly play at the Goldstrike because it is a good mix of everyone and the poker room staff are really nice.

Horeshoe, Grand, and Goldstrike thats were you want to be. Horeshoe and Grand will have 2-5 with Grand being more tourists and Horeshoe with more grinders that play everyday. And the stacks at 2-5 at the Grand will be anywere from 200 to 1000. Horeshoe 2-5 will be much deeper with some guys having like 4 or 5K. So i would suggest Grand. thats were I play when im in Tunica. But dont get me wrong the game at the Shoe is awfully soft sometimes as well.As for 20-40 the only Casino with that kind of Limit action is Horeshoe. And that game is the loosest 20-40 game in the world, seriously. All of the players you will be playing with will suck but will see the flop. It is defiantly a post flop game. If your running good you can make like 3 or 4K. But the swings are crazy. Like the swings are so sick that 4K might not be enough to handle the swings in that game for 4-5 days.hope that helps remeber 2-5 is super soft equilivent to like .25-.50 nl online.

All of the previous posts are spot on. When I take friends down there that just wanna have fun and play some cards I take them to hollywood to play in the $1/$2 NL game, which has $200 capbuy in, and is usually pretty soft but lots of people buy in short so kinda hard to get paid off. When I go down there to play I usually try and get the poker rate at the shoe and play some $1/$2 NL to get some hours in there, and if you are looking for limit you need to stay at the shoe, but if you are looking for NL the strike is where its at. I noticed you said you wanted to play $2/$5 but since there is no cap at the $1/$2 NL game at the strike it plays alot like $2/$5. I was down there about 3 weeks ago and there was probably close to $10,000 on the table. I actually think the game at the shoe and hollywood are easier but who can pass up a $1/$2 game that plays that deep.
