Pot Odds RAC 23
They just called him "loveable" on the Heads-Up Championship while he postured for the cameras and acted like a jerk to Huck Seed...Loveable?!?!He is a clown and needs to shut up - If I'd been Huck Seed I would have had to consider dropping the guy. If I see one more loudmouth portrayed as some sort of hero as he prances around in front of the cameras high fiving his "fans" I am gonna puke. TV Producers - Please quit giving these guys the camera time they crave.Even Mike the Mouth said he was "out of line". Brad Booth called him a "Moron" on the air and I have to agree. Teck_72 0
Does anyone really ever take offense to Humberto? Not really. Until huck comes out and says something about he was offended I'm not going to say humberto's a ****, because he isn't. He's a great character to the game and you base your judgments on one occasion and one thing that may have been a bit out of line. If this is the case Hellmuth, Matusow, and all those over-reacting pro's need to "Shut up and go away." Everyone in the poker world respects Humberto and won't think any different of him because of one stupid thing. Get over it.

Get over it.No, I base my judgements of this Moron on every time that he sees a camera and he begins prancing around like a clown pushing his little plastic "Chark" at his opponent. If he ever put that "Chark" in my face I'd certainly slap it out of his hand. Apparently not "everyone in the poker world respects Humberto" (what a ridiculous comment) based on MM and BB's comments. I for one do not happen to think that the over-reacting pros are good for Poker.

chgocubs99 0
Let me start by saying, I agree. He annoys the hell out of me.However, DN made a good point in a reply to one of these posts a few months back. How interesting would poker be if everyone just sat there and no one talked? This point makes sense, too.

It is getting to the point where guys in Poker rooms act like this - without a camera in sight. Class doesn't have to be boring. Exciting/personality doesn't have to be tasteless and rude. About as funny as when people in my men's league basketball make celebratory signals or signs, even though there are no cameras and zero people in the stands. Cracks me up every time. If you watched poker years ago he was much more quiet. As the years have gone on hes really increased his ****** level, until its become unbearable.
fitzinabox 0
No , just because YOU think he acts like an *** doesnt mean everyone does. I don't feel like debating it because its a stupid topic anyways. I don't think he acts like an *** , just more annoying than anything.

As the years have gone on hes really increased his ****** level, until its become unbearable.I was going to make this comment as well, I distinctly remember watching a Final Table a few years ago (like 2002 or 2003) that he was playing at, where he was one of the quietest guys at the table. Just listening to his headphones (this was before headphones were disallowed after the bubble) and playing his game quietly and professionally.I can't remember which tournament it was though, I was thinking it was either the 2001 or 2002 WSOP ME, but he didn't make either of those. The "new" Humberto is a pure media creation designed to get him more camera time (a la Phil Laak), and I agree that he's kind of annoying now.

I remember the first time I saw him on a PPT show and thought: "Hey this guy seems to have a good balance - sense of humor and sort of a good guy" The next time I saw him I was a little shocked because he was doing the whole "play to the crowd" routine and seemed like a classless jerk. ajs510 122
I happen to Love Humberto, quit being a classless jerk and lay offf !!!!For someone who doesn't want to debate this topic, you're spending a lot of time debating this topic. Additionally, for someone who doesn't think everyone should have to agree that the OP's point of view is correct, you're spending a lot of time trying to make everyone share your point of view. Love him all you want, not everyone agrees. It's just like...your opinion....man.

ObeyTheDog 0
Humberto?Personally, I don't know him, never met him, so I'm not going to comment on his off-camera personality. I'm sure he's a good guy, he's from Costa Rica, and from my experience, Costa Ricans kick ***. But his antics? The only reason I find them annoying, aside from them being annoying, is that you can "feel" how forced and fake they are. You can really feel that the it's RIGHT at the camera. It'd be like if a really good actor starting talking directly to the camera or something. It loses it's "genuine" feel. Most of the time, when Hellmuth goes on a rant, or Laak does his thing, it feels like that's who they are and they are talking about the situation.I don't know. My BS detector just goes off every time Humberto sings and dances. And if you respond to him, it seems like he just gets louder mumbling and spewing more useless crap."EL REY!!!" STFU. lol
