zsta2k6 0
REGISTRATION IS NOW OPENhttp://home.comcast.net/~zsta2k5/signup.htmGRAND RAPIDS (AP) -- In a recent press conference held, "zsta2k6" has leaked plans to bring back the "FCP Superstars" competition. The original competition pitted 60 of FCP's best against each other in two divisions, with the winner of the grueling eight week competition gaining the crown, and a healthy paycheck. Originally held on the Full Contact Poker room, it appears there will be a venue change to Pokerstars, after the move of Full Contact from the Ongame Network to DGN. Sources close to Zsta claim this year will be bigger and better, featuring a new third division, improved rules, and a high standard of play only found from FCP's elite. We caught up to Zsta, and had a chance to ask him a few questions about the competition.AP: "With the sucess of the original FCP superstars competition, was it only a matter of time until it was brought back?"Zsta: "Yes, I had originally planned to bring it back sooner, however difficulties in finding a new home for it restricted me from doing so."AP: "Do you expect this run to garner more interest?"Zsta: "Definately. With the competition moving to a heavier populated poker room, I expect more people to be able to play then ever."AP: "Sources close to you have stated there will be a few significant changes, including a new division, care to comment?"Zsta: "No comments yet, although you can expect more information to be released very soon."AP: "Thanks for your time."A few details are still unknown, however you can expect Associated Pres to stay on top of the story. The only question that remains, is will Yoda and TheBigB11 step up to defend their crowns? For more information about FCP Superstars, visit http://home.comcast.net/~zsta2k5/For more information about Full Contact Poker, visit http://www.fullcontactpoker.comFor more information about Pokerstars, visit http://www.pokerstars.com© 2007 The Associated Press.RULESTable Setup:Game - No Limit Hold'emBuy in - $5+.50Blind Structure - Slow (15 minute levels)Starting Chip Stack - 1,500Tournament Structure:This is a multi-round sit and go tournamentThe High buyin league will be capped at 24 playersThe medium buyin league will be capped at 28 playersThe low buyin league will be capped at 36 playersIf not enough interest is gathered to fill all three, the middle league will be removed, and participantswill be given a choice between playing in the high buyin, the low buyin, or a refund.Players are allowed to compete in multiple divisions as long as the division does not fill. In the event the players have the same amount of chips when eliminated, the players will take the average of the points awarded. For example, with four players left, two players with the same amount of chips are knocked out, the players will each be awarded 3rd place for 4 points (3rd + 4th, divided by 2).In the preliminary - In the event two or more players have the same amount of points, the tiebreakers will be as follows1. Wins2. 2nd place finishes3. 3rd place finishes4. 4th place finishes5. Head to head place (place in groups where matches were played together)In the event the players are still tied after these tiebreakers, and the final playoff spot is on the line, a tiebreaking match will take place. If A playoff spot is not involved, a tiebreaking match is optional, and may be played by the tied players if they wish. Tiebreak matches must be played the weekend prior to the playoffs.Substitutions:One substitution will be allowed during the preliminary stage. I must be notified by email or PM at least one hour before the match or your substitute will not be allowed to compete.Match Switching:Players will be allowed to trade matches within a week in the event a player cannot make a particular date. Trades must be in by 12:00AM PST the day of the match. A finalized match roster will be posted in the thread at about 10AM every day for all three divisions. Walk up switches for no shows will not be permitted. No-shows:No shows will not be taken lightly this year. We will follow the three strike rule this year. There are match switching and substitution rules for a reason. It is understandable that things happen, however multiple offenses will not be tolerated.No-show #1: You will be warned.No-show #2: You will lose 10 points, $10 of your buyins will not be refunded, and you will be deemed inelgible for the consolation tournament, if there is one.No-show #3: You will lose 20 points, you will have no buyins refunded, you will be deemed inelgible for the playoffs, and will not be allowed to compete in the next fcp superstars. All non refunded buyins will be added to the consolation tournament, in the case there is no consolation tournament, buyins will be added to the champions payout. Also, a no-show in the last week of the tournament will count as two no-shows, the last week is the most critical, and giving away points because someone does not show up is not an option. If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact me at FCPsuperstars@gmail.com, or pm me (zsta2k6)Registration will open very soon, and will be available on the FCP Superstars website, http://home.comcast.net/~zsta2k5

TheSkearnel 0
I think I would want to play in this, probably in the new mid level. Any talk of possibly changing the start time of the tournies though? I work till 9:30pm Central time every night so I wouldn't be able to make the current start times. Or possibly work out something where we play on the weekends?
zsta2k6 0
I think I would want to play in this, probably in the new mid level. Any talk of possibly changing the start time of the tournies though? I work till 9:30pm Central time every night so I wouldn't be able to make the current start times. Or possibly work out something where we play on the weekends?Unfortunately, probably not. This was a major discussion point in the first run, and 9-9:30PM EST is about the best balance we could strike for people on the west coast getting out of work, and people on the east coast able to stay up and go to work tomorrow.More information will be posted tomorrow, including a full rule sheet, a synopsis of the tournament, I'll highlight the differences between the last run and this one, and I'll throw some important dates out there as well.I will say this, the tournament will start sign ups extremely early, to avoid the last minute crunch last year. Payment will be requred to secure your spot unlike last year. And the tournament will not take place until after the WSOP, to accomidate players traveling to vegas for that event. More concrete details will be posted here tomorrow and edited into the OP, so stay tuned, and tell your friends.
