'lucky You' Movie Review

I actually watched this movie last night because I'm a loser. It sucked, was very sappy and boring. The review that PPSux put up is pretty spot on. The poker scenes were pretty good and believeable though.Edit: Oh, except for the ridiculous collusion/cheating at the Final Table.

I just saw it. Drew looked 45 yrs old. The poker was believeable and Daniel read his lines like DeNiro. I gave it a 6.5 out of 10.

The author of the review in the link.....she says this is the first poker movie to be made (I guess she never heard of Rounders) and that the movie is a few years too late, because the poker boom peaked a few years ago.

BTW, waiting for the DVD is the way to go on this one, since I will be doing the audio commentary on the play of the hands.DN plays me in this flick, only with more talent than he actually has, great acting, Daniel! Saw it today with my Fiance, we liked it alot. I thought it was a really good movie and it didn't paint poker in a bad light at all. It was cool seeing so many pros, even if only for a couple min. And even though my Fiance doesn't play nearly as much poker as I do, it was cool talking to her about poker during the movie. I'd suggest seeing it for sure!

Please don't talk DURING the movie. That's rude.

Collusion at the final table is the way the character "redeems" himself after stealing, criticizing for somebody not cheating for him, etc etc?the cameos were entertaining but i hated watching hennigan and many other pros being called some fictitious name...enjoyed parts of it, but overall it was a POS

Collusion............ you do realize that it involves two people acting together. Did you even watch the movie? Did you see the two people acting together to benefit each other. Why don't you understand something before you try to talk about it.Movie was enjoyable. It was a fun date movie with some good scenes. People seem to forget just as with Spiderman 3 and comic fans that the movie is made for the masses and not for the one specific fan type. This movie had a good poker plot and an ejoyable romance theme.

SPOILER ALERTyoure right.... the fact that its a FATHER SON COMBO and that they are basically calling each other's hands out the whole way down only to have the son muck the best hand in hopes that his chips will help his dad win another title like he knows he dreams of MEANS NOTHING...idiot...
