akatz17 0
About to make the rail call and then this **** happens!I'm sick of making the final table shortstacked, so i decide to take a gamble.I figure if he has A10-AK he folds to my checkraise on the flop. Even if he has high pockets, which he did, i still have a fair number of outs.Seriously, is the right strategy to try and chip up before the ft? Every time I try to do this it fails. The 2 180s I won within the past month, were both done coming into the ft shortstacked. Maybe I should just stick with what works.PokerStars Game #11316857785: Tournament #57413001, $4.00+$0.40 Hold'em No Limit - Level IX (300/600) - 2007/08/05 - 01:36:22 (ET)Table '57413001 9' 9-max Seat #4 is the buttonSeat 1: stangfish (7125 in chips) Seat 2: Pounddog31 (48203 in chips) Seat 3: Darryl Lick (1530 in chips) Seat 4: SaskatcheR (15148 in chips) Seat 5: Pottsino (38456 in chips) Seat 6: Emelioooo (16926 in chips) Seat 7: jaym333 (14315 in chips) Seat 8: sheikydonkey (27819 in chips) stangfish: posts the ante 50Pounddog31: posts the ante 50Darryl Lick: posts the ante 50SaskatcheR: posts the ante 50Pottsino: posts the ante 50Emelioooo: posts the ante 50jaym333: posts the ante 50sheikydonkey: posts the ante 50Pottsino: posts small blind 300Emelioooo: posts big blind 600*** HOLE CARDS ***Dealt to Emelioooo [6d 5d]jaym333: folds sheikydonkey: folds stangfish: folds Pounddog31: raises 600 to 1200Darryl Lick: folds SaskatcheR: folds Pottsino: folds Emelioooo: calls 600*** FLOP *** [3d 2d 3c]Emelioooo: checks Pounddog31: bets 3600Emelioooo: raises 5400 to 9000Pounddog31: calls 5400*** TURN *** [3d 2d 3c] [9d]Emelioooo: bets 6676 and is all-inPounddog31: calls 6676*** RIVER *** [3d 2d 3c 9d] [Td]*** SHOW DOWN ***Emelioooo: shows [6d 5d] (a flush, Ten high)Pounddog31: shows [Kd Kh] (a flush, King high)Pounddog31 collected 34452 from potsheikydonkey said, "ouch"*** SUMMARY ***Total pot 34452 | Rake 0 Board [3d 2d 3c 9d Td]Seat 1: stangfish folded before Flop (didn't bet)Seat 2: Pounddog31 showed [Kd Kh] and won (34452) with a flush, King highSeat 3: Darryl Lick folded before Flop (didn't bet)Seat 4: SaskatcheR (button) folded before Flop (didn't bet)Seat 5: Pottsino (small blind) folded before FlopSeat 6: Emelioooo (big blind) showed [6d 5d] and lost with a flush, Ten highSeat 7: jaym333 folded before Flop (didn't bet)Seat 8: sheikydonkey folded before Flop (didn't bet)

akatz17 0
Yeah yeah, my rant may have seemed a little odd, but seriously, I thought the whole goal was to come into the ft with a lot of chips. I can't keep assuming that I'll be able to run 15k with blinds at 500-1000 into a victory. Can I?

I can't keep assuming that I'll be able to run 15k with blinds at 500-1000 into a victory. Can I?indeed you can. remember, most of the final table doesn't understand where they are in relation to the blinds. it is GREAT to get there with a big chip lead, but i think many of the fcp'rs can arrive at the final table in the bottom 4 and be serious threats.
