Does Anyone Tip Higher Than Nickels On Hsp?

Recommended Posts

I've rewatched different episodes of HSP and i've never, EVER see anyone throw the dealer anything else but a red chip. Its just a little funny to see some guy rake in a $100,000 pot and then throw $5 at the guy who dealt him a monster that got him what a person might make in a year or two years. Does anyone know if players on HSP have thrown the dealer at least $100 for a tip?

why is it funny to make 5 per hand? That's the dealers job. Its a job with no task other then to make sure the game is going as it should. A tip is a gift. period. It's not a necessity. it doesnt matter if they have a million dollars or 100.00 bucks at a 1/2 NL game.If you cant' understand that, then seek medical attention. If you cant handle the fact you are sitting in front of so much money, guess what, find a different occupation. See if you can find another occupation where you make 150 per hour and you dont have to strain a muscle.

It isn't like the dealer decided who got the winning hand. The guy is paid to sit there and turn over cards. How much of a players winnings is he really "entitled" to? Does he tip players who he deals bad cards to?He should be thankful that he's there doing that instead of working at Wal Mart.I toke once- at the end of the session- and even then, she has to have big tits.

$5 a hand X 30 hands per hour = $150 an houryoure right....thats nothingsw obv
QFT. Even if they rotate 3 dealers an hour, that's $50 an hour. Please, somebody start a fund for these poor people.

Not to mention the fact that you are getting paid to learn from the world's best and observe the action firsthand. I'd bet many would jump at the opportunity to deal at HSP for no pay whatsoever.

Yah, but Erik Ryland already get to do that for free, so that's nothing special.

Even if you are tokeing the dealer because they are "lucky" to you, the casino might tally up all tips and divide them amoung all dealers. So you are not giving the lucky guy anything more then what the cold deck dealer is. Also listen to the rant at the start of Reservoir dogs. Why should they have to tip?

In one of the last episodes this season, i noticed David Benyamine throw the dealer a $100 chip after he won a substantial pot.
Well David Benyamine is French and most of the pros on HSP are American. Hmmm....

I'd be happy getting 5$ a hand every hand. Just because the pot is 100k doesnt mean we "deserve" more. They dont have to give us anything, same as any other poker player. Most of them are assholes and dont tip anyways....the only reason they are is because its on tv. **Cough**Johnny Chan, Jamie Gold, Farha, Elezra**Cough**. The only thing thats hard sometimes is pushing a 100k dollar pot and getting stiffed then seeing them tip the waitress 100$. But its the same anywhere, just because the game is higher doesnt mean we deserve to get more. And speaking of Benyamine....hes a huge tipper...seen him at Bellagio rolling dice numerous times and tipping thousands after a winning session. He usually rolls with 5k on the passline, 20k in odds behind it....and he bets EVERY NUMBER for 5k a pop and 6k for the 6 and 8. sick sick ****!

I always wondered what those redbirds on Cash Poker were for, now I know. Couldn't figure out for the life of me why a $75/150NL game would have a need for $5 chips...lolThe OP took a pretty good beating but I thought he brought up a decent point. Maybe it's just in my overtipping nature to tip a proportional amount to the pot size, but I tip $5 on $200-300ish pots fairly routinely (unless the dealer is a total ****** and doesn't deserve it). I'd feel totally ridiculous raking a $100k pot full of banded stacks of cash and then throwing a redbird to the dealer, but that's just me. That being said, I don't play poker to make the rent like these guys do, so I understand that side too.

I would never ever tip. Just look at the dealer here who called out players *** A-holes just because they won't give a stranger gifts. Tipping is a culture thing anyways, it doesn't exist in my country.

In Sweden it's not even allowed to tip casino employees, but I'm pretty sure that the dealers are making a lot more than their US colleagues. In fact I've heard that US dealers only makes very little above minimum wage and actually relies on tips.

That makes all the difference in the world.

I'm not sure about dealers but waiters in the U.S. make LESS than minimum wage because it's expected that they'll make it up in tips.
