its not even a bad beat really. The guy out drew him on a flush draw. I think it'd be different if it was runner runner

classic NL philosophy: bet huge to push out the flush draws.that's so wrong.1. no flush draw is going to fold for any reasonable bet. you shouldn't be folding to any reasonable bet with a flush draw, either.2. a flush draw will only fold for a big overbet where he has to call an all-in with LESS than 2:1 odds. that means you have to push all-in for more than the pot. you should never be doing that (if you don't have a monster, you'll only get called when you're beat. if you do have a monster, you're only going to get folds).3. you WANT flush draws in there. you have a 66% edge. why do you want to make him fold??nothing against the OP, but it's frustrating to cosntantly hear these ridiculous ideas like betting big to discourage flush draws. you will lose the pot, but you want weaker hands in there. it's +EV.(assuming it's a cash game.)http://www.cardplayer.com/poker_magazine/a...4679&m_id=65560aseem

thank you for that clarification...i always read that you should bet to push out the flush but never really thought about it.
