Poker Clubs In College?

Recommended Posts

I was reading a cardplayer article a few weeks ago about a college that has a poker club, where they talk strategies and play few sng's once a week. Is anyone else a part of one I go to FAU and have never heard anything about one, even though I hear about games played on campus I yet to play any. What would the pros/cons be to maybe look in to starting one.

Dude if you're going to FAU then just go to the Hard Rock or any other casino around there. Maybe check Facebook and search for poker groups.I myself am a member of the UF Poker Association, even though I don't go there yet, its good to be prepared

The only descent structures at Hard Rock are around 500 for tourneys, and sng's are a joke. I was just talking about a place to talk to others on strat and maybe play a few sng's, instead of just typing away, you know actually go outside and socialize.

I remeber a poker magazine (I can't remember which one, but it wasn't Bluff, Cardplayer, or All in) had a cover story of the best colleges to play poker. I can't remember much except for that Penn State was the number 1 school.

Yeah thats the issue I was talking about, I remember reading that the university kind of ignored them as a poker club, and realy wanted nothing to do with them.
