Table Games In West Va

Recommended Posts

I have been to wheeling 3x and the players are atrocious. I mean worst i have ever seen at every level. one or two solids at a table who are easy to pick up. This is a gold mine for western pa poker players.

Nice, I've been trying to head down there the past few weeks, but haven't. I'm thinking about heading down next Friday, the 23rd, to Mountaineer.

Unfortunately for me, Charles Town didn't get their table games or poker room approved. Also for me, Atlantic City is still 100 miles closer than Mountaineer or Wheeling. :club:

A buddy of mine bought a new car, so we went for a little road trip on Saturday. We stopped by Mountaineer (and Kamikazee's, but that's a different topic, haha) and the poker room looks REAL nice...I was real surprised. I watched 5-6 hands of 2-4 limit and had to laugh at the play. The one hand had 4 hearts (AKxx) on the board, with the 4th hitting on the river. 6 to the showdown with...QQ (of hearts), AJ (of hearts), 25 (both hearts), 2 others showed 2 pair, and I didn't see the 6th. Wow.Anyway, my plan is still to head there this Friday, if anyone else is making it down, hit me up with a PM.

I Deal at Wheeling Island, and play at Mountaineer pretty regularly. If anyone has any questions let me know. Yes the play is horrible at both places. So far i have seen the nuts folded face up on accident facing an all in river bet because he said he didnt know he had hit his kicker to fill him up. Now this was after the guy had put around 300 of his 400 dollars in the pot already and folded for his last 100. Also, in stud i have seen a 7th street bet CALLED by another player who couldnt beat the players board. Ive actually seen that twiced now.

They seem to be pretty tight on security. I dont know of any way in without being carded. Ecspecially at Mountaineer, i play almost every night i still have to go through security and get a wristband every night.

Believe it or not, it was actually a downgrade.
oh, I believe it.

At Mountaineer, everyone I saw that looked 30 or under had a wrist band on. A guy at my table was 32 and had one.

This week no. I went back home to Ky for Thanksgiving. Wed and Thurs are my nights off though, and i spend more time at Mountaineer on those nights than any other night. And its normally after 8 or 9 pm before i even get there. On other nights its always after 4 am before i even get there so yeah when im there its always late. I most of the time am with 2 other dealers, and i wear dark prescription glasses all the time.

I went to Mountaineer (I timed it, 25 mins from my house) on Wed night and played 2-4 from 9pm - 6am. Then, again on Thursday night and palyed from 1am - 8am. They play is....oh, let's say "below average". I had a great time and plan to go back this weekend sometime.

W.Va. casinos could have table games by ChristmasFriday, November 30, 2007West Virginia's two Northern Panhandle casinos appear likely to expand their gambling options once more before Christmas. The West Virginia Lottery Commission, which oversees operations of Mountaineer Casino, Resort and Race Track in Chester and Wheeling Island Racetrack & Gaming Center, determined this week that Dec. 20 would be the earliest the two facilities could begin offering blackjack, craps and roulette. The locations will become full-scale casinos on that date if they satisfy regulators with their operation of two test nights, on Dec. 17 and 18. Table games will be offered on those dates by invitation only, as private events benefiting charity. Both casinos added poker rooms to their video slot operations on Oct. 19 and found them to be popular, generating a combined $536,000 in revenue at the two locations by the end of October. Officials of Mountaineer and Wheeling Island are counting on the other table games generating more revenue than poker, and helping to steer customers away from Pennsylvania's new slots parlors.Mountaineer plans to have about 50 of the new table games, with a range of minimum bet limits at different tables, and Wheeling Island intends to have 44 tables.
