it is legitmate to say that cardplayer has gone right down the shitter. i was never that in love with the magazine and the live updates can be pretty halfassed, but i'm friendly with a few writers/former interns and so have followed their online/media offerings for awhile. i have to say that over the past 6 months these offerings have become extremely poor to the point of being embarrassing. this is just one more example. just because it's relatively cheap and easy to make video clips and bad podcasts these days doesn't mean everyone should do it. exhibit a: cardplayer. in fairness, i should remark that i've seen very little of cardplayer TV outside of ep. 1 of the mouthpiece, but i listened to every episode of the "new" circuit.i've come to a few conclusions. i read where cardplayer itself is now rep'ing the pros belsky used to say he rep'ed, meaning belsky must now be in with the shulmans in this branching out of cardplayer's enterprises. this, to me, means that any journalistic integrity or legitimacy (never mind actual quality) cardplayer may have had is in serious doubt. these are dark days for cardplayer, in my view.

what it really reminded me of is that scene in casino where deniro gets his own tv show."and now, the mike matusow dancers!"i like mike and think he's a good player, but the show needs some polish.

It needs another person to talk to him. He can't solo it. You need someone there to control the flow and interact with him. Actually I'm not sure it's possible for any video to work with just one person talking to the camera, whoever it is. It's very unnatural. A poor, poor, production.

I really liked it. He's an original and who gives a stripper's *** about the production value?Mike is an american original and that show was as real as it gets.His girlfriend hiding was classic. As far as cardplayer goes, it's #1 by a mile. The have a daily poker show a la ESPN sportscenter. daily.... That seems like a lot of dedicated work to me.
