Alternatives To Neteller

Recommended Posts

Wondering what alternatives to Neteller people have started using. What have you found for those alternatives in terms of fees, time lags, security, availability, etc.Seems like the easiest is to just use a credit card, but for Canadians that isn't a good option since the exchange fees on credit cards are extremely high. Best options seem to be ePassporte and click2pay - how are people finding these?

Yep. It might depend on from where your sending from, but for me in CT, $50 which is the MIn is $15 fee, but $85 is also a $15 fee, so...

Outside of the outrageously long time it takes to deposit/withdraw, ePassporte is functional. I would happily bolt for any sort or reasonable alternative, however. I miss Neteller.
so you've found it is fine security wise?what is the fee structure for depositing to poker sites, withdrawing from them, and withdrawing to your own accounts?how long does it take?thanks

Just go to your friendly neighborhood Walgreens and pick up some gift2go visa cards. They come in 30+3.95, 50+4.95 and 100+5.95. Load up stars, bodog or FT and deposit using VISA. Cut up card, lose money to donkeys calling with q/5 os and repeat.oh yeah, money is there as fast or faster as instacash with neteller

Since the original question was how to replace Neteller, I would like to get back to that. So far everyone has just been talking about depositing to Poker sites. I'm much more concerned with withdrawing, either all the way back to my bank account or back to some medium, such as Neteller, then back to another poker site. ie moving funds between poker sites. Since I have never needed to deposit to poker sites, other than my original $50. that I started with 3 years ago, depositing is not that big of a deal. It's the movement between sites that is one of the biggest advantages that Neteller had going for it. However I do want it easy for all the donators to deposit. That steady influx of new $$$ is what makes I, and others like me, happy.

I've made a deposit with eChecks, and it was in my ps account instantly and out of my bank account 2 business days later, with no fees (unlike neteller). I'm assuming withdrawls work the same way, but I can't try yet 'cause ps is still withdrawing to neteller as a default. You give out your SIN anytime you apply for a job (hah), or to school, for loans, etc. I guess having your SIN would be helpful to an identity theif if they could somehow hack the ps transaction, but I think they'd need more info on you to do any real damage (which I guess they could get anyways if they were viewing your ps details, this seems pretty unlikely to me).

No security problems as of yet, although I don't usually leave enough in there to put myself at risk.I don't remember the fee structure, but it's not that much relativel to the amounts I move around ($500-$1000 at a time); I want to say it's like $5 per deposit and then $2 for each withdrawal. I should note, though, that one of the other annoyances is that they limit your amounts. I'm currently dealing with the headache of trying to take out about $3000, but I can only do it in $600 per day increments. It takes a week or so to get the money in and out.Am I happy with it? Hell no. Does it work? Yes, just not particularly efficiently. As I said, I'll use the first reasonable alternative that presents itself. The gift card thing isn't attractive to me for a variety of reasons (convience, no withdraw option, numerous extra steps required if all you are doing is moving money around, etc.). Seems like it would work well for a new deposit, but it pretty well stinks for what I'm trying to do, which is move the money from my poker bankroll savings account into and out of the various sites when I need it.

I have only withdrawn once since the seizure. I used the paper check fashion by UPS. cashed out a little more than 1000 bucks, it cost me like 30 bucks and I had it in 4 business days.

That's annoying.I'm thinking about signing up for click2pay, but I can't find any info on their website about fees. Anybody know for certain what their fees are?

i've heard those are good, and for smaller amounts make sense. however, like kestral, i'm looking to transfer in 500-1000 amounts, and paying $50 or so for a transfer just doesn't sit right.

Let us know what you find please.Anyway, if you can't use credit cards (because they are blocked) then Click2Pay probably won't work. Even though I was signing up to use EFT's from my bank account, they want a credit card during registration.I'm somewhat confused that this situation hasn't caused more conversation from people. I'm in Canada so obviously the whole "alternative to Neteller" debate is a new one for us. Even on message boards which are mainly Canadian it doesn't seem to bother people that much. I guess most people don't mind paying insane fees to move their money. As far as I know there are NO deposit/withdraw options that have no fees attached (like Neteller with EFT) aside from Click2Pay. Someone should correct me if I'm wrong. Some of the fees aren't that bad but there are two problems:1) I'm already paying a rake. Having my money raked again coming in or going out (or both) just feels wrong. Since when does a casino make it so difficult to get your money IN? I think the poker sites are really drastically underestimating the longterm effects of this. Obviously the US law changes hurt them most but now having no easy, free, instant deposit options for many places in which it has yet to be outlawed cannot help.2) I've played poker for over a decade and would often play for hours every day and I have become so disillusioned with the deposit methods now Neteller is pulling out of Canada that I can't be bothered depositing. How do you think the new players (fish if you like) will react when they see an ad on TV, want to try some online poker, can't use their credit card, and are then faced with the insanely long and expensive deposit options currently available?I played William Hill every month. Now that Neteller isn't an option I can't deposit there. I don't mean that I dislike the alternatives, I mean I literally cannot get money into their casino. The deposit area is blank (as I used to have Neteller as default and they've removed it) and I can't select anything new. My e-mails to support (three in the last week and a half) have gone completely unanswered. They aren't the only room trying to deal with these developments by just trying to ignore them. I find the attitude of the poker rooms to this to be baffling at best and suicidally incompetent at worst. Yeah the US bill was a disaster but failing to help the customers who can still legally play is just bizarre. If you went to the Bellagio and the doors were all locked but you could hear people gambling inside wouldn't you find that slightly odd? If you then called up the casino and said you were standing outside with a handful of money and wanting to come in and they just hung up the phone on you wouldn't you consider that to be slightly bad business? Is that a bizarro universe? Casinos should do everything in their power to make it as easy as possible to deposit money -- right now they seem to be trying to make it as difficult as possible. I understand the US issue is tricky but how is ignoring Canada going to help?Anyway, ranting aside, has anyone found any options that have FREE EFT deposits AND withdraw? I don't care what room it is at this point -- any room which can get my money in and out for free without using snail mail will get my business. So far Party is winning because they seem to have an EFT option which is $0 in and $1 out.

I just heard back from my email to Click2Pay (just over 24 hours response time) and the word is the following:1) debit accounts (linked directely to your bank) are only available to German, Austrian and Swiss customers;2) for credit card accounts, they charge a fee of 3% per transaction (which I interpret to mean 3% at deposit and 3% at withdrawal). The problem is, if our Canadian credit card company refuses to deposit to gambling sites, will we not be able to use our MC to go through Click2Pay? If so, that pretty much eliminates Click2Pay as a Canadian alternative to Neteller. And I'm not playing big enough stakes to justify a money wire for a $15 fee each time.
