People whine about paying Staal $4 to be a "3rd line center", when in actuality, he's a guy who plays 20 minutes a game (aka more than a lot of 1st liners). People are idiots. Almost all of them. All week on the local sports radio shows the main discussion is, getting rid of Matthew Stafford, or benching Stafford, or saying that Stafford is a poor QB or todays word of the day was, he is serviceable. I don't get it. Why do people seem to LOOK for things to whine about.Keep this in mind.Stafford is 6th in the league in Passer Rating. 4th in the NFC.Stafford is 7th in the league in Pass Percentage, 4th in the NFC.Stafford is 5th in Pass Yards in the league and again 4th in the NFC.He is 5th in yards per game int he league and 4th in the NFC.4th in the league in passing TD's and 3rd in the NFC.4145 pass yards, 62.7% 33TD 14INTAnd people are complaining that he sucks. He holds the record for most Passing TD's by a Detroit Lions QB. He is 193 yards away from taking over the top spot in Lions history on passing yards.Holds the record for most passing TD's in one game. He did it twice.16 completions away from the Lions completions in one season record.And if he continues to play no better from this point on he will most likely hold the best passer rating career for a Lion and could easily break the single season record this year.I think my point is that in most sports markets, the people who make the most noise would never ever be satisfied. He looks overweight and out of shape.As a guy who loves Football, Stafford is pretty good. I find too many people to be way too negative/complaining about things constantly, and generally just dicks to other people on top of it all.I dont understand why, but Zachs explanation is as good as any I have. People are still bringing up possible goalies the Wings should get at the trade deadline because "Howard just isn't the guy to get it done". I will never understand it. I think because Detroit is such a craphole of depression and anger that we could have the absolute perfect rosters on any or all of our teams and the air waves will always be filled with haters and worriers. People wanted Lidstrom traded a couple times the last two years. They want Datsyuk traded this season. Zetterberg too. Half the time I don't know if people are actually calling in and reading HFBoard trade ideas or these same people who call in actually post at the HFboards themselves.
