ajs510 122
I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that Chris Stewart has the best backhand shot in the game.Additionally...it's going to be a very, very long year for Calgary fans.

If I saw 5-5 and then saw nothing from St. Louis or Backstrom it would not make for a happy Jay.

Stamkos had about 8 chances on the PP in overtime, I could have really used a G, GWG, and PPP!
gruven 530
That game had me wondering about coaches overthinking the shootout: You would think that the shooters would beOveckin, Semin, BackstromSt Louis, Lecavalier, StamkosActual shooters:Hendrix, Ovechkin, SeminThompson, Moore, XXX

They practice this, and some guys without other offensive usefulness can be great. Sweet. Use them. But I have a hard time believing that neither Stamkos nor St Louis are better at the shootout than Thompson or Moore. And these points count (unfortunately).
Zach6668 513
Yeah, I tend to think the guys who watch EVERY practice, EVERY game, EVERY shootout, etc know more than random internet videos. Also, they have the most at stake here. Danny you can say the points count, but they obviously know that, and it obviously means the most to them. I'll trust their judgment. digitalmonkey 929
Many coaches love to go with who has played the best game.
ajs510 122
There's a lot to be said for sending a guy out there that the goalies don't have a "book" an inch thick on already as well.

Zach6668 513
Why not send Nate Thompson out on the power play then?PP and shootout are vastly different.Nate Thompson has 1:44 of PP time this season.

Zach6668 513
From Elliotte Friedman's 30 Thoughts:24) Was talking with MLSE president Richard Peddie at a morning skate last year when Devan Dubnyk walked by. Peddie asked, "How is anyone supposed to score on that guy?" You can see he's beginning to figure it out, and I'd like to see Tom Renney ride him for awhile.
mrdannyg 274
I would also like to see Renney ride Dubnyk for a while, but I'm gross like that.
digitalmonkey 929
That thought would carry so much more weight if Richard Peddie's name was replaced with just about any other name.
