I am officially a Magic fan tomorrow evening, thanks for making me hate basketball players all that much more. Congratulations on being born freakishly tall and having "earned" (not necessarily possessed, mind you) tens of millions of dollars.

Very frustrated right now...I would like to make some sports bets, but cant get money into any account. The only site that works is Party bets, who have an interac option that just debits my chequing account instantly. My visa doesnt work on any other site..Moneybookers used to work, but now it doesnt work if the money is coming from a Visa.i am too tilted to wire, as it takes too long....Party bets is ok, but they dont have the variety of bets that I like..

My guss is Fluffer or Media Relations
They're the same thing.... I was the director of Game Day Operations, which is essentially the job of putting on the show from the minute the doors open until the three stars. It's all those goofy promotions, anthem singers, the videos you see, the music that gets played, intermission stuff, anything that goes on on the concourse, blah blah blah.... Because it was the Oilers (see: cheap), there was a lot of multi-tasking, so I did some community relations and media relations as well.

Was MacTavish there when you were?Is he a dick? How come Craig MacTavish and Doug Gilmour don't get the same treatment from Serge that Dany Heatley gets?

MacTavish did. Gilmour was named in a civil suit alleging sexual improprieties with a teenaged babysitter.

I'm not sure what you mean by bogus. I believe the charges were dropped because they determined they didn't have enough evidence. This doesn't mean it was a false accusation. Was Heatley charged?

So Gilmour not being convicted means it was bogus, but Heatley not being charged means he got away with something?

What Heatley did isnt up for debate...He was reckless and he caused a fatal accident.a 14 year old crying rape with no proof isnt exactly the same thing..Gilmour has done so much for hockey , especilally in this city...Heatley continues to be a douchebag.

But hasn't Heatley served his sentence? He had to play for the Senators.

I got into a heated argument at the pub last week with a friend over which sport takes more skill, Baseball or Basketball. He actually argued vehemently for Basketball. how?? The entire Talent pool for professional basketball is pulled from the 0.001% of the population who is 6'8 and over. How can that even be considered skill?

I have the same argument with a group of buddies who insist that Soccer takes a lot of skill and talent as opposed to the other majors..Any 3 year old can play soccer...Anyone can kick a ball and run..Yes its some skill but its not like hitting a 100 mph fastball, hitting a round disc with a stick while balancing on tiny blades etc...

That is one very cool job. I would have worked for free.Funny thing about the Oilers and cheap comment. I remember looking around the job ads and saw a Finance job for Maple Leafs Sports. If I remember correctly the salary was inline with the Oilers comment. So I guess I will not work for free.

So then snooker or darts requires more skill than hockey? Cause any 3 year old can skate, and 90% of hockey players are 6ft and higher and min 190lbs.Dont be dissing soccer and basketball!!! :club: Baseball is a fat mans sport. :ts

Give me a freaking break.First of all, the average height of an NBA player is 6'7". That's kind of like the middle, not the floor. But that's not really the point; the amount of athleticism on display at an NBA game is incredible. Go sit courtside at a game and you will be amazed at the speed and agility these guys possess. And the game is a lot more physical than you think.I've sat courtside (well, a few rows back) at an NBA game and I've sat first row at an NHL game. I was more impressed by the NBA guys (although the speed and power of the NHL was pretty cool too). Also, let's not take the actions of one deranged lunatic and think they apply to an entire league.
