digitalmonkey 929
I find Glenn Healey a lot more tolerable now than I did in years passed. He's improved greatly as a commentator, imo, and he definitely knows his stuff when it comes to the NHL and NHLPA dealings.

I was thinking about this in game 1, actually. He used to come across as just really really negative in tone. He's removed most of that, although he still as a little sarcasm, which I don't mind, but I think that's the biggest improvement.I like him a lot now, to be honest.

dEv~ 19
Matt Cooke demoted to the OHL!Also what about Subban trying to injure Cooke the same way he injured Staal.San Jose sees octopus, raises it with shark eating baby octopusIt sucked for MA Bergeron but IMO that Adams hit wasn't that terrible. Stupid...ya, dirty, not as much. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QgwCfG7oq6U...player_embedded
bdc30 0
Seriously? You can watch that hit at full speed and say it's not dirty? lol.
dEv~ 19
Seriously? You can watch that hit at full speed and say it's not dirty? lol.Yeah...pretty much. He fell awkwardly but Adam's didn't really hit him from behind. Because MAB misplayed the puck he was forced to turn to his left before taking the hit. Adam's hit more of his left side than his back.Crappy images for sure but you can see quite a bit of his number than you'd expect to see in a straight hit from behind like earlier this year with a hit that got Andy Sutton suspended. bdc30 0
come ON..he takes at least 4, maybe 5 strides through the zone and is staring straight in to his numbers the entire time. lol with using freeze-frames when what I said was "watch the hit at full speed" I'd love to see your opinion were that to have been Subban running Crosby like that. dEv~ 19
Full Speed - ok you're right. Which is why the major penalty was called and he was thrown out of the game. But the league office doesn't rule watching things at full speed. I certainly wouldn't be happy if it were Crosby but if he put himself in a position to be hit like that than it really wouldn't leave me with a ton to complain about. Is it "not that terrible" because he wasn't injured or because Adams is a Penguin. I'm fairly certain if the jerseys were reversed you'd be calling this hit dirty.

Just because a player is facing the boards doesn't excuse any hit from behind. It's not like Bergeron turned at the last minute.
Zach6668 513
Dale, you mentioned in another thread, maybe get rid of the hitting from behind rule...Just random thought, but they sure as shit don't call HFB unless it's on the boards anyways. Guys get shoved from behind in open ice, in front of the net, etc a TON, and I can't remember ever seeing it called.
coesillian 0
Bergeron did leave himself exposed, but Adams was even more stupid to actually hit hit him the way he did. He easily could have seriously injured him.
mrdannyg 274
I'm usually pretty sympathetic towards hits from behind where a guy turns...I don't think that's what happened here. Adams had plenty of time to see his back, and he clearly shoves him from behind when there were other options. He could've hit him differently, given him a lighter tap, anything. Shoving a guy from behind, that close to the boards, is dirty. A veteran like Adams knows that. Bergeron did leave himself exposed, but Adams was even more stupid to actually hit hit him the way he did. He easily could have seriously injured him. This is definitely true too. Like a lot of these situations, Bergeron left himself exposed in a bad spot. I'd say a veteran should know better, but Bergeron has convinced us pretty often his experience doesn't go much beyond a wicked slapshot.
serge 904
I always get pissed off when people blame the dman for leaving himself exposed..Thats a whole lot of crock...Every player is exposed in one form of another, but the player doing the hitting has to be take responsibility and not hit a player in a vulnerable position.
