doox 15
ESPN's Midseason Awards.http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/columns/stor...&id=4799407 At this point, I don't support Crosby for the Hart...yet. I am, however, pleasantly surprised to see Staal's name for the Selke.
Zach6668 513
Don't really know how Crosby could be the MVP. I mean, I can't think of reasons really against him, but like, he's not exactly having one of his better seasons.
MapleLeafpoker 1,462
Picking Crosby as the winner, and never even mentioning HSedin proves yet again ESPN knows jack about hockey. Maybe consider Crosby as a contender, but thats it. There are at least 3/4 others ahead of him.

ajs510 122
Midseason discussions about anyone other than Miller for the Hart is just silly. This isn't homerism, it's fact.Without Ryan Miller, Buffalo would have a better shot at Taylor Hall than a playoff spot. With Ryan Miller, Buffalo is 1st in the Northeast by 3.5 games, 2nd overall in the Eastern Conference, and 4th overall in the NHL. That's an MVP, no other player in the league means as much to his team's success as Miller means to the Sabres'.
serge 904
much like Miller, Bryzgalov has to be considered..The leading scorer on Phoenix has 28 pts...He has spectacular numbers very similar to Miller as well.

dEv~ 19
There's a lot of voters that won't vote a goalie for the Hart when they have the Veinza to win even if they deserve it. It's the same in baseball with MVP and Cy Young awards.
mrdannyg 274
Henrik Sedin is the NHL scoring leader! And perhaps more surprisingly...is on pace for 38 goals (though he won't get there).

MapleLeafpoker 1,462
i dont think Gary Bettman would agree...so, now you like Bettman?I think if he's not....brandishing 4guns and asking Avery to choose which one he'd like to be killed with OR....throwing money around the floor of a strip joint and yelling "Fight for them moneys ho's"OR...fixing games, being aligned with bookiesits ok with the NHL that he sings badly.Im sure the "TMZ had a video of Dion Phaneuf and hes drunk in Vegas" scared all the execs enough, that this was a welcome site. serge 904
so, now you like Bettman?I think if he's not....brandishing 4guns and asking Avery to choose which one he'd like to be killed with OR....throwing money around the floor of a strip joint and yelling "Fight for them moneys ho's"OR...fixing games, being aligned with bookiesits ok with the NHL that he sings badly.Im sure the "TMZ had a video of Dion Phaneuf and hes drunk in Vegas" scared all the execs enough, that this was a welcome site.I dont like Bettman at all..However there is a double standard in the NHL..I dont think the video is the image that Bettman is hoping his poster boy stars portray.Dion Phaneuf is a video game cover, NHL branded, star that they market....It doesnt look good when he is drunk in Vegas and acting like he does..There is an image to portray. Its a fine line from singing drunk in public to being photographed with 2 cocktail waitresses.Sean Avery gets almost banished for uttering words out of his mouth because its bad image for the NHL to use the term sloppy seconds..But acting like a fool , drunk in vegas is ok??I like the term fight for them money hos....made me laugh
Zach6668 513
Getting drunk as a private citizen in Vegas (or was this a part of the NHL Awards weekend?) is completely different from gathering the press in an NHL locker room and doing what Avery did. That's not a double standard, those are different things. Vastly different.

Speed Limit 0
The NHL needs to make Zenon Konopka their poster boy. Also, DiPietro will get the start tonight, his first start in over a year.

Is he one of the more recognized players. Sure but poster boy? No that's Crosby and Ovechkin.I have no issue with the video and I despise that piece of crap. Big deal. ajs510 122
I wish Darryl Sutter owed me a tremendous favor so I could ask him to trade Phaneuf to the Leafs tomorrow. I'd love to see how quickly this tune would change.
